My son got a new guitar hero game, so the house is rocking! That's okay, but he wants me to try and I don't know if I have the talent to do that guitar thing.

Brutus: Go for Guitar Hero! We won't be around your house to laugh! I personally don't understand it. It seems easier to just teach yourself how to play a real guitar and play what you want, not what someone else wants you to play. Just push the color buttons.

Slow day. Daughters to 3-yo Art Class today. They made Valentines day crowns...and decorated picture frames to frame photos of the girls with their crowns. Bride's idea on the class.

Jim - Very glad you mom is doing better. I am glad we are not having snow days here. They just extend the school year since the days must be made up at the end of the school year.

John - how do you like that software?

Chief - is the rain recently helping make up for the drought in your area?

Roy, It has it's good points and some not so good. I also bought the Lionel, MTH & K-line plug ins. I read quite a bit on another forum by guys that have used this as well as other software, and this appeared to offer the most bang for the buck. When you add an item for an item not in one of the three plug ins, such as Atlas, you have to build the entry from scratch, which is not a big deal. One thing I don't think it will do, at least I haven't figured out how to do it is copy the previous entry. As and example, I have several series of Atlas cars in which I own the same item except for catalog no. and road number. There should be a way to duplicate the last entry and just change the things that are different. I did try to load it on my main computer which is running XP X64, but it would not load on the OS. I put it on my laptop running XP and run it from there. That's enough for a forum post. If you are interested email or call.

The rain has stopped, now for the freeze tonight, Ugh. wall1

Doesn't seem to rain hard west of Raleigh. That is where the main lake's water come from. Poor location for a lake. Nothing much feeds it. As for us, yes. My pond had been running over the spillway for months. Ground is pretty wet. The fires the other day were caused by winds drying out the top and then pushing the flames. Going to pack. Later.

Chief if you like watching deer make a trip to Knott co. Ky. they have the biggest Elk in the nation due to better feeding in the wild and lack of natural predators other than hunters then out north west of the nation:shock:

I am pretty :curse: sick at the moment atleast it is not the flu:mrgreen: a good reason not to venture out of house today. Will fix some "diet soup" chicken flavour.

CSX - hope you feel better soon! Mom went home and is doing fine with new meds. Full of pizza and cookie-cake and just hoping that they don't close school any more this week since I have so much to do!Had some kind of java download trojan thingy on the computer - finally just uninstalled java and deleted all the temp files to get rid of it. IE would not have run it, but I don't like that on my system even if it has been negated.

This *#@ site has gone crazy this AM!!!!!! Long post and suddenly gone!!!!!!! Some kind of popup is here and Microsoft does not like it.

Shohio in Raleigh and west and north west of it. Raleigh's is gone. The others have covered roads that froze during the early hours. Roseyville just got rain. Packed and ready to go. Wife is still goofing off. Going to "jerk a knot". Burg has to go to the kennel at 8 AM. Ran trains last night. Switched from bath tub gons with coal loads to piggy backs/ maxi stacks and the other train, from coal hoppers and box cars to grain hoppers.

Hello,

Just wanted to pop in and check how everybody is doing.

Keep well.

Hatter, I hear you lost weight since you got married. Not from the wife not being able to cook but from all the "extra activity".:thumb:

Good morning folks

I started out the morning with frozen doors on the van. It took some good tugs before I could get them open. It was 26 F as I headed on the highways. High will be 44 F.

I didn’t get any modeling done last night. We had Cub Scouts. I went over knife safety with some of the scouts and we had 6 boys earn their Whittling Chips.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Mailman brought my latest bay purchase yesterday, 2 marx metal cars and I have a caboose coming to complete the train. I have trouble with this site also. sometimes I go off site and return then it works the second time. Now lets see what I can get into today. S.J.

Morning all. Here's a first: I'm in the office on a Thur instead of working from home for the first time in more than a decade. I have a 'command performance' to attend a certain meeting. Even wearing a tie. Then I'll turn around and go back home. Good news about your mom, Brutus, and your brick. Hope your feeling better, CSX. John, thanks for the advice, I'll sniff around the other forums too. Boy, I took the wrong allegery meds this morning - I'm too sleepy. Maybe that's because, like Roy, I've been up past bedtime for the past few days and getting up earlier...

What's the name of the thread, or which sub-forum is it in??

Thanks

Afternoon all!

Been in meetings all morning - argh.

Warming here with temps supposed to be 70 but I think just 65. Strong breeze from the south - might be kite flying weather. Supposed to cool off and rain for Friday and Saturday. Might make for good indoor train time.

Cleaned off more of the layout last night. Took off most modern and PW stuff and replaced it with my prewar tinplate. Cleared out the yard area and filled it with tinplate - looks good. Ran my 249E with a string of 800 boxcars and my Prewar Celebration 261E set for about an hour. Lots o' noise and fun. As LAZ says - no pileups - but I did stay up too late.

Doug - a tie?? :-o - must have been a very important meeting eh?

Hope the Chief is keeping hiz honor on the straight and narrow on that cruz.

Jeffrey - good night shots again! Nice glow - you must be running the lamps at about half normal volage.

Well - Valentines dinner tonight. Cards are in place, flowers are staged. The only glitch is our daughter has to work tonight, so we are going to plan a desert at home for when she gets off.

Have a great evening all!
Roy

Regarding "V" day, I DID send my wife an e-mail card.
icon_smile.gif
icon_smile_angel.gif
Then she had free tickets to see a performance a the Community Playhouse for this evening. OK, I'll go, I mean it is Valentines Day.
icon_smile_angel.gif

Then she said it WAS a long play, intermission AND a 5 minute "leg stretcher". And didn't think I would enjoy it. Soooooooo, I thought about it and she is right. So since it is Valentines Day, I called her Mom and Dad, and they are going with her, and I'll have to stay at home, (to dust trains, somebody's gotta do it).

Hi guys! Tom, my son just completed Cub Scouts - now he's a Boy Scout. Nice pics, Jeff and good advice, I've lost a lot of posts myself on this and other sites. I finally decided that if I push on the case of my laptop near the built in mousepad thing, it sometimes clears the screen or something? Getting ready for training at work and just trying to make sure I don't forget anything. It's aggravating, because I can't get to my regular work, but they just have to wait on me. Doug, reminds me of that movie, Stripes - Just wish I didn't drink all that cough medicine this morning! LOL
