Yeah John - I know that song and dance.. I'm afraid to look out the window with the morning light tomorrow... Our roof is 30 years old :(

Chief.. No - we're not "tough" up here - we complain as much as you southerners do.. :D We don't even have real Grits to comfort us LOL

The wife & I had a FREE dinner tonight,... well not really free... Our daughter came over with her 2 friends - with 7 Top Round Sirloin stakes... They cooked it and some corn on the grille.. yeah - in 20 deg ree weather with a wind chill of 13 LOL

The steaks were PERFECT!!!! Melt in yor mouth... All it cost me was running out yesterday to get 15.00 worth of a propane tank refill :D

Got to see the no 2 Daughter (24 years old) :) The no. 1 daughter (26 years old)- is in NC... she's expecting my (and my wife's) first grandchild (grandson) soon....

Her due-date is tomorrow - so hopefully we'll hear something very soon :D :D :D

Congratulations on the Grandson thats on the way. balloon6They are great, we have 3 grandsons and 5 granddaughters.

Morning all. Thank goodness for a hot pot of joe and a glowing stove in this caboose. Boy, all the complaining about the weather elsewhere, and it's 35 below here - actually a few ticks below zero with a stiff breeze out of the west - see, Kurt it's all Jon's fault - it's from Iowa.

Jeffery, I remember building a crane model just like the one in your photo. It was a heck of a kit.

Sir James, that Williams unit is a nice switcher - congrats!

Mikey, my heartiest congratulations on your steaks and grandchild. ;)

CSXect, I don't think I'll get used to the voice of KITT as Val Kilmer....

Dennis, that's good news about that editor. I've been asked to dabble in post-production work here. It's turning out to be a lot of work.

Chief, hope everything is OK in Rolesville - the news here makes it seem NC is burning like Atlanta in 1864.

4 days and counting until the bride leaves for Iowa and I get to play with trains for 72 straight hours. ;)

Good morning folks

It was 10 F as I headed out to work today. It is a big change from only a few days ago when we had 71 F. Today the high will be 25 F. we have some bad weather moving in and our expecting a wintry mix tomorrow night.

It was a busy weekend despite the fact was down with the virus going around. I missed Scout Sunday because I woke up with a 101 fever. We did get the cupboards restocked and my son had two basketball games. My daughter did not make her game since she was still getting over this virus. Everyone seems much better today.

I began weathering the trucks on the flat cars.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Doug, STOP IT! The wind has switched to out of the east, we DO NOT want that weather back. Good grief, it's bad again today with snow on the way. I filled the truck up this morning and I got back in while it was filling with the motor off just to get some shelter. We are off to Florida in a few weeks, I may start walking just to get a head start

I've been ready to move South ever since I retired, but the wife won't go with me. wall1

It was down to 9 this morning with a -8 wind chill. Now it is all the way up to 24 and sunny. Want to go to the Harrisburg NRHS meeting tomorrow evening, but they are predicting something nasty, snow or freezing rain or maybe just rain or a mixture of all three, they just don't know. I don't drive when not absolutely necessary in that kind of weather.

Chief, I have a neighbor just like that. I think he waits till the wind picks up to decide to burn his trash. No burn regs in our township, well there are some but not enforced.

OK, Jon. I will wave my magic snow-wand and send it all south to ...where's a good place: how about Florida - that is plenty far, right?

It is 17 F. Wonder if it ever made to the predicated high of 25 F. Weather is supposed to go to crap around here tomorrow afternoon also. We are about 95 miles east of Jefelectric. They say it will start around lunch time with snow, then sleet, then freezing rain, and then in certain areas rain. I wonder where we will turn up on the Wheel of Weather. I am hoping it doesn’t effect Cub Scout Roundtable tomorrow night.

Congratulations Mikey! Now you are making me feel old. It was bad enough when my daughter went to her first dance.

A OK here. You tell folks not to burn, its too windy and dry on top. They do anyway. Probably Yankees moved South. ;-)
Hey Chief, we had the same problem here this weekend. We went out on two grass fires that both involved endangerment of property an done involved endangerment of life and limb. People think that because it rained a little a few days before they can go out and set their fire and walk off and leave it. One guy almost burned his neighbor's house down.

Doug--
If your magic wand has the power, how about just a little south east towards---say---North Carolina? No need to hurt the citrus growers with our cold temps. I think a little sub zero would strengthen their character a bit:thumb:

Is someone having trouble with the weather?? I know exactly what you mean!! Its really messing up our schedule. Normally I change the AC filters after Easter. But, wife is wanting to have the AC on, and I don't have the filters changed yet. Better get busy.

Chop chop, Don! Get that AC ready - have to drain all that rain out first? Uh, Doug, I think you missed and hit Missouri with that last flourish - aim it at Ohio? I don't think they would notice an extra 5 inches of snow, do you? Or sleet and ice?

Chief, you sure know about batteries. If I ever have a riding mower, I'll be sure to call and get all the info fro you!

Jeff, nice pic as usual! I've been trying to find it, but I can't find the photo threads on this site?

My mom came through knee replacement surgery fine - it was a spine block and not a general anesthesia surgery. Thanks for the kind thoughts and prayers.

I told my training trainer (sic) about my son's Arrow of Light award as her son is an Eagle Scout. Debbie told me that her son also won a Medal of Merit for saving a woman's life when her leg was cut up on a mountain in Colorado on a ski trip - he kept her alive for 2.5 hours until help arrived! Man, that's a great reason to support Scouts!

On a trains note - I loaded up the newer version of railroad tycoon on my laptop and it runs pretty well. Sid Meier's Railroads! But, every once in a while VISTA just reports that the game quit working and it blips and is gone.

I've decided to try and put more positive stuff in my life. Now, I just have to figure out what that is? I think it involves a John Bull train though

Rats, I have to obey my own law it seems, so it is snowing again here too and may not hit 10 tomorrow. Sorry for blasting snow and ice randomly about. Before I resume hexing Buckeye's layout - I sense he may have visitors soon - Let me gaze into my magic semaphore lamp: I think... maybe... It is! A John Bull - and add-on couch is in Brutus' future.:thumb:aussie
