First time ever, and the first time into anything model railroading. She sure picked a good starter kit sign1 and now she's hooked, had a blast building it and now sees why I like it so much :thumb:

Only bad thing I can say about the kit was the window mold had a bubble in it and some scratches

Tom,Your sweetie did a great job!:thumb:

Now you have a modeling partner as well as a sweetie!

But,I must warn you..

After my late wife got interested in the hobby we spent more time in hobby shops, making trips to far away hobby shops(because SHE wanted to check their structure kits!) and spent more hobby dollars on structure details.
In the return I had great looking structures,a 24/7 helper that love to do track work, solder, build kits, help chose industries and write waybills for those industries.

Warn? Naw,it was a great pleasure having her as a helper.. After all we spent many enjoyable hours working on various projects, attending train shows etc.

I just built the same kit after picking it up for $7. I wish I could get my wife into the hobby...

Thanks Larry, It is good to have her want to look with me and have her pick out kits :D

Good deal, around here that kits was $12, and it was the cheapest PRR caboose out of them all for some reason, they range from $12 to $24.

The Mrs also picked up one of the PRR Boxcars from Bowser so more fun for her later

Here's an interesting turnabout: my wife isn't at all interested in my "choo-choos" (she is OK with the time I spend doing the hobby), but I have discovered that I enjoy her hobby, quilting, even to the point of designing my own original patterns.

What a beautiful model! Its fortunate that she has even chosen the same railroad to model that you favor. This HAS TO BE A MARRIAGE MADE IN HEAVEN!

She chose an excellent model to start with and did an outstanding job assembling it! Be sure and post pics of the boxcar when whe's done. I sure wish my wife would share my hobby with me.

If you guys are into the PRR how about suggesting she tackle a Bowser N5C... a little more challenging because she will have to remove the molded on grabs and fabricate her own, as well as glass and underbody detail.
