And what of the New York Central?

Somewhere, I once saw a list of how many cars were still around bearing the reporting marks of some long-gone roads. I wonder how many PRR and NYC cars are left? All of them would now be ineligible for interchange service because they're all past the 40-year limit (unless they were rebuilt, in which case I doubt they retained their reporting marks).

The who??? NYC?? OH you mean the Green Team. LOL. There are plenty of cars carrying NYC marks now, albeit they are not original NYC cars. These are the CR cars relettered for NYC LLC and used by CSXT.

As for the PRR, I wish I had witnessed the Mighty Pennsy but I was born an era too late. My library certainly pays tribute, as will my layout pay homage to the likes of Thompson, Cassatt, Rea, Atterbury...

A toast to the late, great, Pennsylvania RR.

In that list I mentioned (which was a few years ago) there were still cars with original PRR and NYC reporting marks.

Oh yessir!! There are for SURE some PRR and NYC cars still out there. I was just mentioning the recent influx of NYC stuff due to the CR split...
