Hey Yall.

I noticed it's been quite I while since I posted here, though I read pretty often, I figured I would drop in and say hey.

Hey.

In other news I recently got a job at Wal*Mart working in overnight maintenance. Already I may soon be transferred stocking, which is a little better. It helps when you know the assistant manager ;). Anyway the job means more money for trains! HAH.

And now you know, the REST... of the story!

See Y'all, Hill

Good morning folks

It is 36 F with a misty rain. It is supposed to go up to 46 F with more rain. Then it is supposed to get milder and we could have temperatures in the 50’s. It is project drop-off day at school and since my son has one and is still getting over the virus he had I am dropping him off this morning and will be a little late getting to work. My wife has to be at her job early this morning so I am the school bus today.

We had a great Pinewood Derby on Saturday. On Sunday my daughter had her basketball game which was a disaster. She has a couple of bad coaches and I think I need to get her moved off the team. I have had past experience with them in other sports and my daughter is not allowed to play for them in softball. One of them messed up her swing and it took us two years to correct it. Also during the game they told the girls that if they did not get called for two fouls they were not being aggressive enough. Of course this meant that the game turned into a shoving match. I can take a lot of things but poor sportsmanship is where I draw the line. Her team lost 34 to 10.

I finished weathering the decks on the Athearn blue box TOFCs. I also began weathering the wheels on two Athearn RTR TOFCs, a 40’ flat car with crates, and a 60’ with two trucks, and a Bachmann Silver Series flat car.

Don you are right about the lack of crowds except at the supermarket. We went out yesterday after to my wife's museum to see their new exhibit and on the way home stopped at the mall which was empty. After we left there we stopped to get dinner and we were the only people in the place which is usually packed.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Morning. Busy day. Water Greenhouse after a big bowl of GRITS. Then carry some bags of clothes to Goodwill. Go to Town Hall, lunch meeting, County Commissioners meeting and then Town Board tonight. Buys day but tomorrow should be a day of straightening up house [from the moving bedrooms around] and trains. Have a great day.

Morning all. Inbound trains very late today due to 'signal problems' and my favorite 'waiting on other trains.' Unexpectedly snowed late last night - with 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter, I went out to clear snow for the dog and the driveway and still made it for the last few minutes. I wanted the Pats to win to finally shut up the Fish. Ah well. Have a good day!

well the canceled school after the boy got on the bus and was over 1/2 way there, this was after the 2 hour delay they had. if the buses had pick up all the kids and was that far alone why not have school? its warm here, snow is melting.

RT: More a commentary about the attack on you that was supposed to be funny. I didn't find it funny either, and it didn't help the situation. Back to bickering over there.

I really want to get the trains running...will need to do some temporary wiring and get the Desk Branch Line operational...build some tunnels to elevate the CPU and printer. I hope the bride likes (doesn't notice) it!

I'm rich!!! I won $40 on the Super Bowl!!! Those Giants are a great team!

Ozzy...glad to hear everything is working out. :thumb: BTW, I wrote the moderator and told him to ban that idiot on the CTT forum that was giving you trouble. He has slammed other people before, too. We don't know what exactly he is trying to hide, but his address on the forum used to be the old Lionel plant in NJ.

Jon...Where are you going on vacation this summer?

Chief...Now if we can get the Celtics and Bruins to lose, too.

Working on my bridge pier and abutments.

Funny you should ask about the summer vacation plans, we just finalized them Sunday morning over coffee in St. Paul. Ryan & I are headed to Colorado on the bikes:mrgreen::mrgreen: I think we will trail the bikes to Denver and leave the trailer at sister in laws and head directly to Gunnison to Slumgullion Pass, to Creede. That ride is supposed to be spectacular to say the least. I really want him to experience Durango, Silverton, Ouray and then head north to Trail Ridge Road and overnight in Granby at another sister in laws. Two days of out and back from Granby to Steamboat Springs, Kremmling and then back home.

Wish Ryan had more time but he needs to be back in St. Paul one week after he leaves on a Saturday. We are going the third week of June so he can get back as he is preparing for the MPLS/ST. Paul marathon in Oct. and he needs to get serious miles beginning June 29. Normally we tour in August but this year will be earlier which is fine with me, he thought we could go to CO in May but I said no as Trail Ridge will probably still be closed. Often times they can't get it open until Memorial Day weekend.

So many roads, so little time.

:mrgreen::mrgreen: I have had a total loss of 69 lbs so far 48 more to go:shock:

learnd an interesting thing in the class part of the diet, once you hit the goal weight you need to eat 10 calories for every pound you weigh to maintain that weight, if you go over that you will gain weight back if go under you will start to lose muscle mass as well:cool:

Stoped at the Schottensteins department store and found an interesting Item it is a reasin covered bridge with hay wagon on it will try to post pic of it later.:thumb:

I noticed that last night there were people posting here during what I guess was some crucial moments in the Super Bowl. Either they were multitasking or they really didn't care much what was going on there. Hmm, what does that say about me?
:thumb:

You may have been talking about me. I didn't go out to watch the game and the wife is not a fan of Pro Football, so I watched it in the train room with one eye while the other was on the computer screen. No I didn't run trains at the same time. It was a pretty good game, at least the 2nd half. I really prefer college and HS football.

Chief, did you start any seeds yet? Or are you just watering the carryover stuff?

Just got back from the 5 year old granddaughters birthday party. Big day for her, it was delayed over a week due to the three girls passing around a virus, finally all got healthy.

On another note, it was also a sad evening. While we were unloading our car, their 10 year old lab came came charging out the front door and ran right in front of a passing car, which was being driven very sensibly. The gal driving was really shook up but she could not have avoided it. The dog was taken to the vets but died while the vet was preparing to do some xrays. She looked pretty good but was having trouble breathing. The vet thinks she had a punctured lung. This was Dad's (SIL) dog and he took it pretty hard, don't think the girls are old enough to realize yet what happened.

This afternoon I picked up a set of Lionel catalogs, like to get the real thing in my hands.

Tomorrow is Shrove Tuesday or Faschnaut Day here in the PA Dutch Country. Doughnuts to the rest of the world.

John F, really sorry to hear about that dog. Hope the son in law is okay - that's tough.

Did the Disney thing all day Saturday, then wife and kids shopped me to death at Downtown Disney Sunday. Did take family to eat lunch at Planet Hollywood which was a kick esp for the kids, but I like all that junk too. Wow - $90 for lunch for 4 people! Up early today and sent the family back home to St. Louis, then worked all day. We had a big dinner at Jimmy Buffet's at Universal, which was pretty good. Just took way too long to read a bunch of pages since last Friday, so will say hi to all and talk more tomorrow.

BTW - Dennis, you are what I call a true gentleman. Hope your son is feeling better. He seemed really tired at the dinner, but I figured they had been going non-stop for a week already. I've got an idea for a transfer table machanism -- maybe use one of those extender arm things - the ones where the metal pieces pivot on centered rivets in a long interconnected series attached by rivets on the ends? have several of the rivets "anchored" in a long slot down the middle, so the action would be restricted to a straight line?

no worries about him, i have having fun with him,, got to love it when when you use there "logic" against them to prove them wrong, and doing it with out going down to his level (name calling, and what not) for the most part i got what i wanted, that was peoples thoughts on what i posted, if they agreed or disagreed and why, there was just 2 or 3 people that had take it off topic. i do think it is funny that some think i was trying to say MTH was better then lionel, i was not, i just pointed out lionels short falls where i think MTH has got then beat in a few areas, i own a heck of a lot more lionel then MTH, but i see myself buying mostly MTH out of the 2008 vol 1 books. right now they are offering more things to scale that i dont already have then lionel.
