Macross/Robotech Destroids, and other mecha

Hi Everyone!
This is the new thread I'm creating so everyone can follow my progress on the Destroids in particular.

I also hope this thread would lead to a lot of discussion and ideas, inputs, advice and general Robotech/macross related chit-chat. It's open to anyone and everyone!

I guess it's somewhat of an overkill to post this here as well, but for those who haven't been following the SDF-1 thread in the designer's corner, The little bugger is in the downloads section for all to enjoy. Please send me your comments on that model since it's my first, and feel free to post pics of your build!

Onward to the Destroids then:
My first Destroid (the Defender) will also be an easy enough build, followed by a more detailed pose-able version. I have the parts printed out and ready to test-build. Pics following the build I'll post as I go along. For now, enjoy the SDF!

There can never be too many Robotech / macross models! Every link (Provided it abides by the forum's rules) will be most welcome and appreciated!

Apologies to all who are eagerly awaiting the Destroid pics. I got sidetracked by my TCS Victory (Wing commander 3) Design.

Unfortunately there are many sites out there that have great models and also blindly post or host links to scanned or copyright material.

Don't feel bad about it. Just keep an eye out for these sites and quickly run through the site in general before posting links. Usually these sites will have large hits on files that are taboo so thats the first place to look.

Paragon, you are of course correct. :mrgreen: My typing was faster than my thinking. The Phalanx will be next, followed by the Tomahawk then the Spartan.

After that I want to do an armoured Veritech Battloid.
I decided not to give a date for posting pics of the Defender build because I seem to fail at delivering them the whole time! But they will come soon... ops: Promise... sign1

HI Guys, great idea putting this thread up Thunder. Got a few kits here, will try to get them sorted for you guys.

MK II Destroid Monster (complete but pdo has errors now so will redo)
VF 11 Valkyrie (satlled)
VF 2Ja WIP (planning stage)
VF 1 (A_S) WIP (Planning Stage)

Have models of a few destroids but Thunder can do a much better job

I think the downloads section for Battlestar Galactica is so cool!

Thats how the speech starts right? My dream is to have a dowload section like that of the Galactica, but for RT and Macross. So Janx, Let's get those models up there! Ok, wait for me to finish at least the defender ( ), But your Alpha is such a great model that I'll be hard pressed to even match it!

Who else would like to have the Robotech/Macross section? If we get enough models up there it could happen right?

Janx, I for one would enjoy building YOUR destroids, and be honored to have mine stand next to them on my shelf!

I agree, I'd enjoy having Janx's destroid models, especially if they're half as good as his Alpha (I'm currently building it).

I myself was considering making models of some of the less common aircraft in Macross/Robotech, like the VC-33, SC-27, LVT Avenger II, VC-27, F203, Comanchero, etc. since I can design aircraft models pretty well.

UHHMmmmm,the link to the VC-33 leads to a youtube vid of the US Navy's test shot of the worlds largest railgun. I tried it 3 different times.
The VS-33 Mom's Kitchen looks kind of "klunky".

The F203 looks HOT !

The SF-3A Lancer II is extrenely hard to get ahold of.( resin GK.) But looks fairly easy to do in card.

The Anti UN MiM-31 looks good too.

hmm, found something else, a flying VF-1A glider kit, here. odd program looks like an executable slideshow, maybe the left-most button will print out the pattern?

I have the exact model kit of the armored lady and had actually started
to build it quite some years ago but never finished.
I can try do a 360 macro of the kit if anyone is interested. Let me know
and I can dig it out of my collection.
