I placed an order with this site last week, and never heard anything since.

I sent an email asking about the order status and got the auto-reply.

"Hello,
Thanks for contacting TexNrails. We are out of town at the Amhearst and
Timonium Train Shows and will return on March 6th. We will be checking
emails for emergencies and critical issues.

March 6th?!? There's no mention of this at all on their website and is pretty ridiculous. Luckily it was just a small non-essential order, but still.... sheesh.

Anyone ever from these guys before? Good or bad experiences?

...Credit Card order if that's what ya placed? March? You'd bet I'd be MARCH-ING!

I've had similar problem

I've bought products from texnrails over the years. My major beef with them is they are very slow in shipping. The only way I would order from them again is if they had something I could not find anywhere else. Usually, when I order I want it to be shipped asap.

Not good business practice to take off and close shop completely. Especially with a online or mail order business.

Ditto. I had to call them up several times about an order I had placed. I finally got it, but it was like extracting an impacted wisdom tooth from a hippo by using a toothpick. I won't order from them again. Attention all online business operators: If you don't care about your customers, pretty quickly they will stop caring about you. There's too much competition online to do business like this.

This place sounds like internettrains....They never have anything in stock so they order what you order, and it takes forever. There's a thread or two here about IT. The message is probably meant to keep you off their backs for at least the 6 weeks it's going to take to ship your stuff....
I'd cancel the order and send them a nasty note...
