Chief--
I can't take credit for that pic of the deer and cat. We've had deer get close to the 3 steps of our deck but never have come up, thank goodness. You will NEVER see a cat in our house just aintagonnahappen :)

I have some pics somewhere of a very large buck in the yard last year, I'll look for them. It's sort of funny that you like to feed the deer, I have a 12 gauge sitting by the deck door so I can scare them away with warning shots. They destroy everything that's nice if I allow it. It took them about 10 days to figure out that are wonderful German Shepherd had died, they never came in the yard--he lived on the deck 24/7. He's been gone almost 5 years (this summer), I still miss him big time.

Good news, Jeffrey and nice pic!

RT - that sucks, sounds like they are trying to take their time. Hope you get it fixed soon, man.

Well, stuck around after my x-rays and ct scan for "preliminary results" and received a card that says they didn't see any more kidney or other stones, but I do have diverticulosis? Glad that's over for now at least, I was really afraid their might be another one in the magazine, so to speak. Thank God for modern pain pills, because it hurt so bad for about an hour there I wanted to die, but since then I think it's abated about 99 percent now. I guess it was a 1 to 2 on a scale of 10 by that afternoon after it came out with the pills. Back to work tomorrow, too much slacking even for me! I wish they could have done these tests yesterday, as I could have saved a day of leave. Maybe I can still work OT on Saturday to help pay for the van stuff.

No trains these past few days, but I did run some on MS train simulator on the laptop. It runs pretty good! I'll take this on my trip too. I'm trying to save as much of my perdiem as I can to help offset our little minivacation.

Turned into a beautiful day. Got warm enough for no jacket. No wonder we are sick. Wife too. Started drugs today and probably more tomorrow after seeing DR. Got physical at 8 AM [oooh, have to get up early and drive to Raleigh]. One good thing is the Dr. is laday to do all that feeling around. Going to rest and them pack.

HI GIZ,
No trains tonite was fixing my Weaver 0-8-0 speaker again. Why it wasn't getting sound was the very thin tweeter wire or woofer wire was broken off in the speaker. Tried to fix but was too small. Might have to call Weaver tomorrow ? Does anyone know if radio shack would have these speakers for the tenders?
JIM F, glad all was well with your reports. Brother had that diverticulitus. No fun.
Thake care,

Jon E, cats at your house are like cats at my house. Sorry, lab dos not like. You know the rest. I do not like them. Why? Both sets of Grandparents had cats in the barns. I would want to play with the kittens. They were wild and would scratch the heck out of you. Then both sets of Grandparents would pour alcohol on the scratches. Would hurt a kid at 4 to 6 years old. Never liked them since. Funny how things like that cause you to act or dislike something years later.

Jim F. You've got mail.

Good evening,

CTT came today. Looks like a pretty good issue, just glanced through it, looks like a couple of nice layouts.

Spent the day at the Library at the National Toy Train Museum. Current project is cataloging photos. Worked on some from the 40s today. Very interesting.

Hi GIZ,
Another cold day here, 19 this morning.
Thanks JIMBO on the speaker site. Boy they don't cost that much for a small speaker.
CHIEF, good luck with your physical. Remember to turn your head and cough to the side?

Good morning folks

It was 25 F as I rolled down the road this morning. Our high is supposed to be 37 F and we could get some snow showers.

No modeling last night as we had Cub Scouts. Tonight maybe my best chance.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Day started early and got a few added cases today. Hope to get on the road before long. One of the other guys has offered to do my case....think I will let him.
Chief, good luck at the Dr's office today. Make sure you get your dose of Grits before your trip. They may have Grits in Washington, but will probably call them some fancy preppy name and charge a lot more for them.
Brutus, look forward to catching up with you. May blow off the museum and make a scouting trip to investigate train shops. I will see what looks good and perhaps we can get you to a good store or something.
Y'all have a good week.

So, I leave the house at 7:20 AM and the thermometer on the truck says -13, I get into town which does sit lower and it's -17  and it's only 1.7 miles to the school from our house. I'm not sure what I'll do Monday when it hits 40--perhaps go to the beach . Getting ready right now for the next 3 days of travel, hope to get pics of eagles on the Big Muddy where there is open water.

Life is good, a little too cold, but still good :thumb:
