Back from Fireman's Dinner. Great food. SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN, baked ham, green beans, apples and scollaped potaotes. Pleanty of SWEET ICE TEA. Banana pudding. :thumb: Great comedian. Lots of Yankee bashing jokes. Buckeye, rumor has Feds are investigating airliner dumping holding tank :flush1: on Wake Forest NC [neigboring town]. If you see black Suburbans on your street, better hide. You know I have your address but you know I will never tell.

Good night.

hi guys, went to train club today. took some pics of another members O-scale modular and a few pics of the HO scale modular layout. i will download them and post them later in the O and HO forums.

i started building my first building from scratch tonight. an 24' x 30' two car garage . 1:48 scale. i dont need one but i thought it would be fun to do. trying to decide if i want windows or not. i think i will cut out each individual shingles and over lap them . or at least every row . got to find a way to make gutters as well.

Hi Guys, Thanks for all the computer advice. I put in a new (old) power supply and it fired up and the hard disk ran but no video output. Shut it down and pulled the video card and pluged it back in and tried again. Working now as I am using it to type this. Learned that card trick in a computer class long ago. When in doubt pull them out, and plug them back in. It cures a lot of problems. Don't know how long it will last as the PS that died was 300 watts and the one I put in was a 200 watt. Think I will pick up a pair of 400w or better as I have another unit that I think needs one also.

Hey guys - John, glad to hear you got it working! I'll have to remember that. Ozzy, you'll have to post pics of your project. I'm currently working on insulating a 1:1 model of a train room, LOL. Maybe get some more done tomorrow. Really need to redo a long piece of 1/2 inch copper pipe, but it has been too cold to mess with it. Probably just wait on that until Spring some time.

Kurt and Doug, tried a new board game tonight called The Haunting House. Tiles make up a 6 x 6 labyrinth of hallways and each turn consists of 2 rounds of 4 cards each, one randomized and including special cards and another pre-chosen. Regular cards are like: Move 2 Spaces or Secret Passage (Jump across one tile through a "wall") - object is to get from a tile marked Entrance to a tile marked Exit first and somehow block the other players. There is a lot of strategery involved in trying to plan your moves and turn the corridors to help you while blocking the other players. Full of pie and tired, so TTFN

Good night.

Chuck...He's in the sauce again!!! I would never do that to Wake Forest.

Doug....I am going to put a label on my control system, "Murphy's Law Lives Here'.

Back from Orlando, Florida. What easy living those Southerners have. They are all soft and not tough. They just sit by the pool and sip drinks with little umbrellas reading People Magazine. After an English lesson, they head to the bar and have a Cuban sandwich. Next, they get into a big white Lincoln and drive around town waving at all their friends.
We interrupt this drivel with this important announcement:

MORE PEOPLE ARE MOVING OUT OF FLORIDA THAN MOVING IN!

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Well that is great news. That poor state was starting to look like NC.

Chuck...Again thank you for the SD-38. I hope to post photos today. It runs good too, since it has motors!!:thumb:

John...Love that CSX photo.

Brutus: Sounds like an interesting game! I'll look for it.

Spent some time with EZDays, and his lovely wife yesterday. Nice people! Sorry you couldn't make it TrainNut.

Going to McCormic-Stillman railroad park today! Live steam scale model of the Colorado RR, with smaller live steam for the kiddies! Stillman built this for his children, and later donated it to turn it into a museum.

A quick good morning from a drizzly and grey Crystal Lake. Off to church. V. interesting game, Brutus. Need a nap today - the youngest had a late evening nightmare. But it allowed me to find the daughter - who has a full day of studying for finals today ;) - still up at 2 am. That's going to stop.

Good Morning................
It is cold and frosty. 32 degees. Snow / rain later.
Well, today should be an interesting day. Daughter is suppose to come down later. Have not heard from her. I think they had their phone disconnected. No word. ............Kids !!!!!!!
Buckeye....... I think Chief is STILL on the sauce.
Today, I will run trains and wait for the company. If they don't show up, I will continue to run trains. If they do, I will continue to run trains.
Everyone have a nice day,
Chuck

Good Morning - Don't have much time this weekend, working at computer fair, UGH !!

Wow! What a honor! An Airfield! Two significant awards in such a short time. Going to have to update my resume! That is way too cool, I am auwed (sp)!

Laz, I think you need a new gun! What is it 3 or 4 trips and NO deer? Definitely justifies that decision.

Glad to see Buckeye back, that run through NC was great! Buckeye certainly has the Chief covered!

John, Glad to see you got the computer going again! Surprised you had time with your busy schedule. You may be surprised that computer may keep on going for a lonnng time.

Ozzy, You gotta get some pictures posted on the garage, really looking forward to seeing it.

Hope you all have a great day, got to get ready for the show.

BTW, had a conversation with the Chief last night. We sure covered a lot of track. Wiring, Xfmrs, Legacy you name it. Great conversationalist.

Later

Buckeye, we all know you can't fish and in shooting, you can't hit the broad side of a barn. So you did hit WF. :p

Back from Early Church and Sunday School. This Sunday's lesson was Love Your Enemies. Now why would Jesus ask me to love Yankees and a guy from CA? No one but Yankees love Yankees and they don't even do that. Well, OK. Yankees and CA guy, I love you. fingers crossed WOW, it turned cloudy and damp chilly. Staying in today. Trains I hope. Later

I just love freelanced roads. Jeffrey, leave that crazed car as is - looks just like some of the older cars on the North Western -

Had a great day yesterday working with some of the best kids in Iowa at a state contest. I was on the road by 4 PM and home just a little after 5 PM so I could see the Pack put a whippin' on the Seahawks. I sure hope Dallas loses today so we can see another game on the frozen Tundra next week.

We are in the process of dusting the layout, what a pain. I've thought about running a long hose from the air compressor and "power dust" the layout, not sure that's a great idea, might resemble tornado damage when done

We just bought air line tickets to Orlando via Allegiant Air ($94 per person non stop) for a Feb. get away. I have a nephew w/family we haven't seen in years and close friends in Vero Beach. My brother and his wife will also be there so should be fun. It's my understanding that there's a great deal of real estate for sale right now, hmmmmmm.

Ditto what Doug said, Jeffrey, looks like weathering to me!

Laz, I think Don is right and you do need some more guns/rifles - remember, there is no such thing as too much firepower!

Trains and insulation today along with some video games with son while wife and daughter go to teddy bear store.

Afternoon everyone. Had a great Sunday School and Church service today. After Sunday Church, we went out for our usual Mexican food and then home to work. Finished backed drapes in movie room and then put up birdhouses around property. Bride wants to put movie on, so I will sign off as the wireless suround sound speakers interferes with the wireless router for the computor. So, Hope everyone has a blessed week ahead.
