Something seems odd to me here. Maybe it's the fact that the car in front of us has NO trucks, or maybe it's the snaped rail just next to the said car?

:thumb: The one with shoes was probably one of those yanks the Chief keeps telling us about. The big picture window in the office lobby was kinda nice.

TrainNut: In Sun City for the week! Stopped by the PHX ZOO! Great Zoo. Better that Toledo Ohio or Detroit Zoos back home. Small, but very well done. Getting together with EZDays tomorrow am for some trains! Seeing those trains down Grand Avenue is awesome! A little bit of everything! Intermodal, coils, hoppers, automobiles, tankers, Oh MY!

Don: That's quite an ititiation those OTTS GIZ put you thru. Good thing you kept a level head. Loved the tour!

Sir James: Hope you have some snow while we're out! Don't forget February 16-17 Train show in Saline! Largest show in Michigan.

LOL, Don. Very funny!

I'm told the Hulcher or Herzog people showed up at the derailment - one tanker had dry-cleaning fluid so even though it didn't leak - it was a sort of hazmat situation. They took the trucks away from the derailed cars, and they'll lift the 'bodies' onto flats.

John F, I hate when that happens.

HI GIZ,
Great nite ran trains for 3.5 hrs all good save for 1 minor derailment. Caught it in the nick o time. Had BB running on track 1, and a conventional williams GP9, on track 4 , my new K-line tank engine on track 2 and the ole Lionel GP 7 Rock Island around the town, with the strobe lite on. Just a real fun nite watching them go.
Going out for deer tomorrow, last day o flintlock. Going over to neighbors farm to sit for 3 hrs, maybe get lucky?
B good.

Good night all. Don Baker is on his way to Home Depot. All the Yanks are = stooges8. No reclinerizing tonight. Watched Tom Selieck in a cop movie [had seen it before but he is always good]. Loved the Magnum PI series. You know, he never shot and killed but one person in the whole series. It was a KBG agent [André I think was the name]. The guy ran the VC prison camp Magnum was in. He came to Hawaii and I think he killed someone. He was being shipped back on Diplomatic Immunity. Suddenly the FBI cars block the highway. Magnum walks up to the guy's car with a gun. The guy says you won't do it. You see Magnum shoot. Program ends.

No rain [as promised]. :curse: Storming east of us on the coast.

Good night.

Magnum PI was a great show, Chief and I like those tv movies too - the writer is the same guy who wrote the Spenser books, which were also made into a tv show. The books were better than the show, though.

Nice work on that paint job, Jeffrey! Thanks for the warmer weather, too ;)

Don - another good one! :D

Kurt, sorry, my current project was a pinewood derby cubscout car, but I'd love to get into restoring some old trains one of these days. Actually, I want to get into handmaking some brass O gauge trains based on locomotives and cars that the big guys don't produce, like the Dewitt Clinton, John Bull, Firefly, etc.

Just stopped to say hi, sorry I missed you all. Got off work, went to check in pinewood derby car but it was too tall. Went out to eat with friends, then to mall for kids to buy some books. Wife bought me a board game and herself some disney books for the trip planning. Working OT tomorrow, so I'll miss the actual race - first one I missed. Chewy and wife are already asleep, so I'll just say good night.
