Yeah, I am sure this has been asked 10,000 times. I even attemted a search.

So where do you guys buy your HO track in bulk? I really don't like the idea of buying track $0.90 at a time.

Any decent hobbyshop should either have or be able to get you flextrack in bulk. When I got mine, the owner asked how many cases I wanted, then simply went to the stockroom to get it. I don't recall how much it cost, but it's quite a bit cheaper than buying it by the piece. One case did most of the layout that's finished to date.

Larry's right: talk to your dealer and see if you can make a deal for the amount that you require.

That's just way too much track. Unless a football field won't contain your layout.

You'd be surprised how fast you can use up track. While my layout is an "around-the-room" type, the room isn't overly large and I've already used more than a case of 100 pieces, and there's still about a third more layout to construct. Yards, staging yards, and passing tracks will quickly eat into your supply.

Thanks for the great replys guys! I thought there were cheaper alternatives then the LHS. I am all for supporting the local guys, but I also like to save money where I can.

I can attest to this. Although my room is smaller then yours (or so I think, it's only 15x11) and after all is said and done, I'll need at least 70 pieces of just flex. I was very surprised at how much I'll need with how small my layout is.

it is amazing how much layouts eat up at flex track. I figure im going to go thru a whole 100 pack and then some for my trackplan just because i have so much track for my plan. I dont mind it tho, its more room for trains to roam the rails
