Thanks guys!

Good news, I told one of the customers at the restaurant/ coffee shop where I work about me getting married and he said that I can give hime a call and he will make a booking for me at one of our local hotel resorts at a 50% discount using his membership card (he never uses it)- YIPPEE!

Good morning from warm and wonderful Buckeyeland. It is a balmy 35 degrees at Roger's Corners as the sun rises over our snow covered hills.

Is anybody on the forum going to attend the train show in Wheeling on the 12th and 13th of this month?

Chuck...Looking forward to seeing the UPS truck. A big box?? I am very curious.

Good Morning.................
It is warming up. 36 degrees now and going to 46. But, they say it will rain.
Spankybird......That's a big layout. Great pictures. How did the 37 car train do ?
Today, I'm just working around the house. It must be light bulb day. Replaced 4 already and 2 more to do. I think I will run trains later. Need to.
Ok, everyone have a nice day,
Chuck

Wow. I would love to see that layout someday. Grey and warming here. Everything melting. Supposed to rain here too. Off to church to help the drama people rehearse. Hope to extend Fortner Yard today - reconfigure it a bit - Thom and Percy derailing too often on some curves that might be inadvertently elevated.

Morning all. Chuck, did not know that Ohizo had electricty. Thought your trains were windup. bounce7 Spankybird, great job at the museum. Got boxes for you. Got paid by Town yesterday. That means extra $$$$ for shipping. Probably hit UPS store Monday.

Gang, got extras, send to Spankybird for museum.

Sure is a lot of "old timers" showing up on the new Pot on CTT. Lots of posters that are returning too. Hope all will still keep this one going.

Hatter, we do expect photos of the weddig and etc.

Off to Miss Edna's. Later

Good Morning from West Texas!!! It's looking to be a beautiful day here. Overnight low was 44 degrees, 50 degrees now. Expecting a high of 73 this afternoon. I got all the supplies I need for the train table yesterday, but didn't get to work much on it. The wife had other plans for me that didn't include trains.

Chief: Great idea for leveling the table. I hadn't even thought about that yet.

Spanky: Great looking layout. Looks like you fellas had fun.

Everyone have a great day and take care.

Buckeye, I will NOT be attending the show in Wheeling.

Tom,
That layout is really coming along nicely. Great pictures. Just found out we may be featured in an upcoming OGR issue. They are coming out on the 11th.

Chuck, Just be careful with all the bulbs, especially if the neighbors are helping.

Doug, I don't think you have Rudy's attention, yet

Thanks for the pics, that's a huge layout, I love it. Is that a private layout? The lash up looked great, thanks.

Ah, I had a problem something like that back when my layout was still on the floor and I'd only just moved up from Brio trains. My P2K tank car kept derailing on two switches at a good little speed, depending on the direction it was going. It wasn't untill I'd left and re-entered the hobby that I discovered the problem was that the wood the track was situated on caused a little hill before said switches, and the tank car was light enough to get a little air time on the hill. The landings, however, almost always were on the switches, which caused it to derail (and cause a HUGE shower of blue sparks one time, which scared the living out of me!)

Today is gray and depressing, with most of the snow already gone. Gonna head over to Izzy's, a corned beef resturant with really good potato pancakes, for lunch, then head over to PRRman's house to work on our science fair project.

Cheers:wave:

Boy, do I have some important things to mention -----

First - I received a very significant honor today! I have been inducted into the OTTS,

47b8df24b3127cceb37859a41a6200000026100EZOWbRmyYsU

I only hope that I can fulfill all the responsibilites and duties as expected.

Second - The other day I mentioned I was ticked. To summarize the letter I had published in a popular magazine was in error. I received my copy of said magazine Thursday, and was surprised with the letter published. After talking to the editor on Friday, their will be a correction letter published, in an upcoming issue. (It was regarding the article written about toggle switches, I did NOT think the article was fantastic, I indiciated it was fantastic that my letter was going to be published. The editor was very apologetic and sincere about the correction, I feel it was an honest mistake.)
Actually, I was a little surprised that no one took issue with what was published in "my" letter, vs. what I was "saying" in the forums. (Buckeye did comment that I seemed confused)

Finally - With the reports of the "Monster Storm" our little corner is relatively quiet and calm. We have had appox 1.25" of rain, and some winds less than 50 mph. Others not so lucky, suppose to get .25 more today.

This picture is a river chanel outside of our back yard. (Our fence). If you look closely you can see a faint line in the bottom of the river bed, it is all concrete. (LA County this side, Orange Conty otherside)
BTW, the fishing isn't too great, do practice casting on occassion.

The above picture taken yesterday am, the below this morning.

You can see the water line on the opposite bank, the level has not gotten very high, only about 4-6 feet. It has been as high as the upper white spot, completly overpowering the storm drain. This drains directly into the ocean, and I have seen shopping carts, telephone poles, 1 car, flow down in previous years. These are the ones people are always being pulled out of. When the water is flowing is sounds like a freight train going by. (The top of the banks on both sides is a bike path. It runs from the foothills to the ocean.

Thanks for listening, going to go "Celebrate" the new association, and spend the day in the train room.

Good afternoon,

Got the greenhouse ready to start sowing seed tomorrow afternoon. First will be geraniums, as they take the longest to go from seed to flower. About 16 to 20 weeks, depending on variety.

Running my Weaver RS-3. For some reason it stoped last evening and blew the 10 Amp fuse. Haven't been able to duplicate the problem and it has been running for over an hour. Trying in both directions.

Had a good time at the 7 year old granddaughter's birthday party last evening. Cake and home made icecream, Brutus, it was Chocolate and peach.

Going to the PA Farm show in Harrisburg on Monday afternoon. Grandsons will be showing hogs.

Doug, I can see Rudy is really excited about running trains. Can hardly contain himself.

Good evening everyone. Not sure what the temp is as I have been inside doing honey do list since about noon. Was mid 60s this morning though. Took the family to Waffle House this morning for breakfast...yes, we all had grits! Then to the mall and picked up some backed curtains for the den. We have a wall of windows and a glass door that lets entirely too much light in when viewing the TV. The curtains will completely black out the room for movies and such.

About to dismantle the Christmas layout. Was fun while it lasted, but it must go. Have visitors coming next weekend as we all celebrate our combined birthdays.

Had a great conversation with Chief today. The man is full of great advice...on my way for more bins. Hope you and miss Pam enjoy that cruise. Need a porter?

God Bless,
dennis

Website is flaking out. This is the 3rd time I've posted this, luckily I have saved as a draft (learning)...

Sounds great, John - did you save a bowl for Sir James and I? Don, I think I saw a sewer like that in a movie called THEM! It's where the giant ants live, right? That's a lot of water - glad you are ok! Congrats on your honor from the OTTS guys. I was going to ask to join OTTS or REBS, but I think I might form my own exclusive train group for fans of O gauge and Icecream - MOOERS. Missouri O gaugers. You have to say it right to get the dairy connection :)

Nice pics, Tom and Jeffrey!

Hatter, be sure your customer doesn’t want to handle your money for you, hate to see you get ripped off. Sounds like a good deal, though!

Chuck, seems like our bulbs all go out in clusters or groups, but spread out through the house…. BTW, gas at $2.95 today.

Doug, good luck on the yard, I sent you an email (oh, I see you are replying already!)

Evening all. Had some outstanding SOUTHERN cooking. Gumbo and crawfish. Cooked by a great SOUTHERN lady originally from LA [the Great SOUTHERN state and not the city that is a sewer ]. Pleanty of potato salad and sweet tea to chase it with.

Brutus, any one with an OTTS certificate has to live in a sewer.:twisted:

No to feed the girls [deer] I'm sure are waiting and mad. Later
