Good morning again,
I had a post about half finished and IE7 crashed. It has done that several times lately. Seems like it has decided it doesn't like me to leave my computer on longer than a few days.

It was another cold one here this morning, 13 degrees. The pond fliter and waterfall are still flowing, but the fish are all huddled on the bottom. It is supposed to warm up some over the weekend.

Dennis, You need to build a garden shed to store your trains, of course you don't tell the bride what it is for.

Chief, I didn't get my ticket either, but I think Madhatter said he was sending tickets to the reception that will be held later. :thumb:

I just love the fact that us oldtimers can look back at the posts on this
forum and don't have to remember what everyone posts.

Wonder what has Don all riled up? :curse:

Now for the train part. I picked up a pair of the new hoppers from RMT at at Barry's yesterday. Very nice, seem to be scale sized for length and height but just a little narrow. The ones I got are Bethlehem Steel, I have two sets ordered from Cool Trains (I spread my business around :thumb: ) LNE and Lackawanna. Here is a link to pictures of some of these weathered, very nice IMO.

Actual photos of the new RMT Coal Hoppers

Going to a birthday party for soon to be 7 year old granddaughter this evening.

Doug just reminded my of something else I wanted to post for those in the area. There is a train show at York next weekend. It is in Toyota Hall which is the Orange Hall at the TCA shows. It is an all scale show and I will be going with my HO buddy. As usual we will be stopping at the Round the Clock Diner to have Scrapple for breakfast. :thumb: Sorry Chief, no grits.

Good morning all. It looks like we will be warming up to the high 40's today. Been working on our layout which is turning out to be smaller than we invisioned before dry fitting some of the houses and other kits that my grandson wants on the tables. It continues to be lots of time consumming fun for us. Hopefully pictures will be upcomming.

Don....after reading your posts I am starting to get Spring feaver when winter has just begun. Mowing grass, pulling weeds, flower beds, etc.!!!!!!!!!sign1

Here is hoping that you are not in the immediate area of the predicted 100 m.p.h. winds for the west cost.

Have a great day everyone:thumb:

Good afternoon folks

It was eye opening 19 F as I headed out this morning. We will be hitting 39 F by the end of today. A warming trend is coming in for the next few days and we could hit 60 F.

No modeling last night. I had to go birthday shopping for my wife since her day is tomorrow.

On Saturday we will be going to the Philadelphia Zoo Members Open House. We will be getting a behind the scenes tour of several areas. The last time we did we visited the Zebra Stables, behind the scenes in the Reptile House and Naked Mole Rats, and the Elephant House (which is closed to the general public). We will also celebrate my wife’s birthday. (She made the reservations for the Zoo.) Sunday I have no idea what is in store. If it is warm I have a few outside things to do to the house and yard.

I would like to finish weathering the coil cars. I need to renumber one TOFC. I also have the trailers to add some details and weather along with the flatcars. I have a couple of more flat car decks to weather. I also want to look over the Farm House Area and see what details I need to add. Then there is the Bachmann EZ-Command system I want to experiment with.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good afternoon guys. Waiting on a emergency case to arrive. This makes two Fridays in a row with these. On a good note, a good friend from Tennessee is on his way down, so when we finish this case, a few of us are getting together for sushi. Got some work at the house and a little train time. Bride is stopping by estate sale on her way home, so I may have a little wiggle room to order more trains! Gee honey, you bought that antique desk for $1000.00, can I order a Legacy Big Boy?....well, maybe not. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great weekend.
God Bless,
dennis

Hello alot of hurry up and wait work at work today:nope: I guess it is better than being laid off.

I hit all the differnt dollar stores in my area looking for anything train related or usable with trains like diecast cars, playsets ect Found a 40's version of the batmobile for $6.99 at walgreens but passed on it, Krogers market place had a small scale earthmover dumptruck with two close to o scale constuction workers with a toolbox and a wheelbarrow for 2.99 I thought it was worth that much for the two figures:thumb: They will go good with the lionel construction set(An Rs type loco forward only with 2 gondolas)

Chief...Checked with Mrs. Buckeye and yes we did receive a Christmas Card from my buddy in Maryland that works for LM, so I do have a recent address.

Chuck...Looking forward to seeing the package that you sent me.

TomPM...I have some coil cars that could use some weathering. Would be interested in seeing what you are doing.

Hatter, I guess my ticket is in the mail too? Good luck on the wedding, it will all be over soon ;-)

Kurt – good luck on the new layout. I need to get the drywall up in the play room first….

Chief, I did those leveler feet on my table layout, worked great! I got them from
(shhh, don’t look now but I think something is up with Buckeye and Chuck!)
woodcraft. I think it was 4 feet for $15 or something like that?

John F – Hoppers look great!

Floyd, I’d love to see some pics of your layout!

Jeffrey, nice pic and thanks for sending some warmer weather upstream for us today!

Laz, good luck hunting!

TomPM – nice articles, thanks! That Bachman DCC system works pretty well, I had 2 HO trains running for a while with that same system.

Dennis – good luck on that antique/big boy exchange. My wife and I do that every once in a while, you get that then I want this…. It works out great until I run out of $$$!

CSX, sounds like some good finds for cheap $$$.

Doug, I can tell you one thing about Rudy! He’s a good boy! I’ll run over later with Chewy and they can play while we run your trolleys, Thomas and Percy! BTW – nice website! Ace of Cakes is about this chef and his business that makes cakes you wouldn’t believe. They did one that looked like a jeep, another that looked like a big rat on a sewer lid, and another that looked like a tree with leaves falling down onto a cake. These are all custom orders. Its fun to see them make them and then try to deliver and assemble them for some reason. I’ll bet they do taste good, too!

Sir James, we still have some icecream treats, but I think Chewy likes your peanut butter best! Doug and I will swing by after a while and we’ll all grab a cone, okay? Maybe Rudy likes peanut butter too??

Okay - I think that is everybody! Buckeye inspired me to try and get everybody in today. I sure do appreciate this forum and I do read all the posts and try to keep up with everything!
