Hey, I was able to hack into the church's network. I'm over here whilst the bride directs a drama rehersal (sp), I will be video directing it - what a team. Glad I drove her over as I was the only one who knew how to unlock the front door and turn on the stage lights - LOL.

Jon, that is the name of the hobby store in Cedar Falls where my wife bought my Christmas gift !! Are you far from it?

John, yes, we took I-90/80 through IN, OH, the top of PA, NJ where it turned into 95, then NYC and Conn. 922 miles one way - sheesh. I am jealous of your green grass after plowing the neighbors driveway -

Nick, I got a copy of Railway Modeller from my son for Christmas - the Dec. issue - only $13 -- it came with the neatest CD showing layouts and Peco-rama - that would be a neat place to visit.

Brutus, sorry about Buford. Great to see Thomas!

Don, is your El Camino in a parade?

Doug we are about two hours away from Caboose Stop, our oldest son and his family live in Cedar Falls, we try and visit when we can.

We interrupt your coffee for this important toy train update.

Just in from an RSS feed from OGauge Watch website:

There is a great article on ChicagoTribune.com about Elaine Silets, a.k.a The Train Lady. The Train Lady owns a high-end model railroad layout design and construction company called Huff & Puff Industries. The article describes Ms. Silets $1.5 million dollar 44' x 27' O Gauge interpretation of the City of Chicago. There is a video as well.[/font]

Check out the article and video here.

Here is another interesting article about The Train Lady:

Chuck,
Here is what came from the Chief. I have no idea what he sent me. The last time he brought me grits.

He sure packed it carefully. Look at all those peanuts.

Wow, its an orange and blue box!!

It is a new locomotive! Wow! He must have felt bad after that lump of coal he arranged.

It is the matching locomotive to my Chessie 6945.

Thank you so much, Chief. I can't wait to take it upstairs and run it on the layout.

Morning all. Warm [really warm] and rainy. Suppose to be some heavy rain tomorrow. Guess Dr. John is sending it up my way. Thanks Rev. One less boy now. Peek [going on 18 which equals over 100 human per vet] kept me up all night walking, panting, bent double and whining. Sometimes he got real loud. Would not eat his hot dog this AM. Could hardly move in back legs. Just before taking him to the Vet, he laid down ans was resting. Same all the way to the vet and in his office. Buried him in the back corner next to the fence. Since this place was formally owned by the monument company owners, got several slabs of old monument and placed over his grave. Ozzie, the other Peek was cremated. Put his ashes in the grave with Murphy [Ozzie's Dad]. Wife is upset but not as bad as I thought she would be. Its actually Youngest's dog. Was not a lap dog like Ozzie. Burg [lab] can't be a lap dog [102 lbs]. He just backs up to you and sits on your feet. ;-) Train time. Don't know if I will go to Miss Edna's today or not. Later.

Chief, very sorry to hear about Peek. You did the right thing. Sounds like he lived a good, long life. Glad Pam took it as well as she did.

Ozzy, hope your wife does well on the state boards. I remember when my wife did that to get her RN license years ago. She stressed before it, then said it wasn't as bad as she feared. Like your wife, she was an LPN first, then went back and got her BS in nursing and her RN license. Now she's a nurse in our school system.

Looks like our brief warm spell is ending. Last night's lows are today's highs. Bad weather never came through like predicted. We are supposed to get rain tonight or tomorrow, but no bad stuff.

Off to Wally-world in a few minutes. Later!

Cheif...very sorry that Peak could not be helped by the Vet. I know you take excellent care of your dogs. God Bless Peak.

Leaving to go to the conservatory with wife. Photos later. Running trains later. Can't wait to run the new GP-30 from the Chief.

the wife is one of the top students in her class, i guess the test is on a computer, anywhere from 80 to 250 questions. nobody takes the same test, its the luck of the draw. shes not going to take a break before going for the RN. well shes already 3 weeks into it...lol but this lpn will get her a big jump up in pay where she works now! shes just an aid now.

BUCKEYE, How do you rate? Getting that gift? Are you Assistant MAYOR in ROSYVILLE? Or CHIEF BRIDGE inspector? Probably a under the table appoinment?

Buckeye - Thanks for the link to the "Train Lady" that is some layout! Hope the museum picks it up. Could be difficult for them to maintain and move it. Also, that is a really nice engine! :yep:

Morning all.
David, thanks for the reference to the Thomas book. I love the original stories and am redoing my layout to run all of Lionel's Thomas units.

Check out The Train Lady video on the Trib's website - quite a layout.

My wife is a RN too.

Godspeed to Peek.

WOW...what a great gift from Chief. I bet it has 2 motors and all that fancy sound systems and that remote control stuff. You are sure lucky, Buckeye.:thumb:

Chief, sorry to hear about Peek. Please pass along condolences to Pam. Was a long night. Finished up around 2am. I will make rounds later this afternoon, but everyone was doing well this morning.
Big front came through yesterday and brought heavy rain. Been raining on and off since. On my way into the hospital yesterday, it was in the 80s, but I think it is in the 70s today.

My package arrived from the Chief a few weeks ago. I hope to put it to good use this weekend. Have to finish with wiring switches and start for accessories. Hopefully photos later. Thanks Chief. Unfortunately, I am on call till Wed. so I don't think I will be able to make the parade. Would it be possible to delay the parade till next week so I can attend?

Anyway, we are going shopping. I hope to pick up some supplies as recommended by John for the doll house construction today. Then we will start tonight on that little project. Movies either today or tomorrow if the patients allow it.

God Bless,
Dennis
