Hey all:wave:

Had to wake up at nine today ( I usually sleep untill ten on Saturdays) because Me, my dad and my sister were going to see Golden Compass at 11:30 A.M. Usually my family aims towards the early afternoon times, but today I was able to bring my girlfriend along, too, and she had to be back by 3, so that's why the 11:30 showing was the only option. Although we were all supposed to go see the movie together, my sister threw up right as we parked at the theater, forcing my dad to let me and my GF see the movie by ourselves:mrgreen::thumb: while he took my sister home. The Golden Compass was good, but the book is better in some ways IMO. It diddn't matter, though, since I was with my GF:mrgreen::thumb:. My dad picked us up after the movie (with my sis, who aparently had been given more than a little Peptol Bismol) and we all went to Ruby Tuesdays for lunch. All in all, a great day:mrgreen: Oh yeah, I frogot to mention that right when I left the theater, an NS high-nose (I was to far away to tell more specifics) was running long hood first and hauling three red covered hoppers on tracks not to far away. Considering I don't see real trains to often, it was an extra treat for me:mrgreen::thumb:

Cheers,

Got a minute to stop by before bed. In laws are here and it was a fun, but tiresome day. Had to deep fry a turkey and make lots of other fixins. Watched a few movies with them and now everyone is heading to bed. Really did well as wife is pleased and that is what matters.

John B., did not have gathering this week, but should right after Christmas. I will get photos as they are a priority for me.

John (jeffelectric), thanks for the offer. It would help. Also, thanks for the advice on glue as I need any help I can get. Also, you have inspired me to not just get the outside done. Looking at the photos, It would be great if I could do interiors as you have done.

Hope everyone has a great Christmas.
God Bless,
Dennis

Good Evening............
We had a nice day with the grandkids. Weather was sunny and 60 degrees. They have left and it's quiet now. Kids liked their presents. Time to hit the sack. Good Night.

Hey gang. Got my new Lionel NS Sd40-2 with Legacy. On the way up to the train room now. BTW: Miss Edna says she has 6 more Legacy sets coming in next week as extras [Don Baker, snicker]. She now has another NS SD40-2 and several Chessie GP somethings with Legacy. $375.

Well Chief, I'm not a spoil sport!!!! Hope the NS is everything you want, smokes well, and runs great! How is the detail on it? Is it worthy of Legacy Level, and speaking of which, will Legacy equipment be more detailed? And a step up? ----- Just replacing TMCC ? Or an opportunity to enhance the top end of the product line?

Brother and his family came down for the day from Sacramento. So he and I baked Spritz cookies. Was doing pretty good except for the egg shell in the batter. Total surprise to me, cant trust younger brothers to get anything right. sign1

(No Legacy, No Magazine, gonna go eat some good cookies and egg nog)

After having 50 + people at our house balloon6and running the trains for four house, I'm tired, but it was worth it when you see the faces.

Welcome Sir James! Now, did you bring any icecream? There is a small fee and Chewy and I will be over shortly to collect! sign1

Hey, we bought Chewy some doggy icecream treats - will give her one shortly and see how she likes it. I'll tell her you sent it over to make up for drinking from her favorite bowl!

Frankly, Buckeye, looks like a great party!

Buckeye -
Great job, those are some of the best pictures!!! Makes all the work worth it when you see the smiles and interest generated. I especially like the last one with the Mom admiring the trains with her son(?), Looks like she is saying something like, Don't you like this, honey? Did you see....... Think we should get Daddy to build one?? Truly one of the things that make Christmas so enjoyable.

Great job !!!

Trying to get the kids to go to bed, they are the best at making up distractions, it's pretty funny - of course, we have to act all annoyed and stuff and not let them know how funny it is.

I'm back online. Internet disappeared on Monday, but I didn't call until it had been off over a day. Service was promised for "between 2 and 5" on Thursday; I realized that my wife was taking me out for a birthday lunch at that time, so re-scheduled for Friday. Serviceman decided that the wire from outside through the basement wall needed replacing; that seems to have done the trick.
Dayle bought me a set of 3 Pullmans (British style) for my b-day, but about a month ago. We went to a train shop near where lunch was and I bought Steam Through London. Finished the day at RV Warehouse.
I'm finally getting caught up -- haven't read all 10 pages of the Caboose yet.
