Happy Sunday kids.

I am thinking some wise and sage proverb should be attached to this photo of my recent track planning escapade. Something along the lines of "only when you have been in the deepest depths can you appreciate the greatest heights" . . .

This way not be the deepest of depths - but I'll betcha I can see it from here:

Good Morning....................
It's a rainy 43 degrees. Going down to 32 today with more snow on the way. This is some crazy weather.
Today is a train day. I will spend the afternoon in the train room.
Frank53....Your layout is starting to take shape. You have a lot of good features. I like it.
Everyone have a nice day.

Writing this from northern IA at our oldest sons home. Great to be with family with NO obligations other than hold our granddaughter! Great concert last night in a beautiful hall, I may get in the Christmas spirit yet :) Looking forward to tomorrow as that's my last day off and then the final grind for me at my part time job, 4 intensive days and that's it for 2007

As some of you know I'm a big MTH DCS user and have been since day one. I would bet that by next year at this time I will also be using the new Legacy system, why not? But first, I'll let all of you learn it and then teach me :)

Have a Blessed Sunday.

Full of pancakes and raring to go - gotta go clear the mess of the driveway. Got another 2 or 3 inches last night? Since I cleared off yesterday in the afternoon, I'm hoping it will work well with the blower as it was all snow after that. Some time before I finish finish finish the basement I need to run a wire out to the garage for another outlet in the center of the garage (front wall). The one the builder put in is blocked by my truck, so have to pull out a little before I can get to it.

Nice pics Tom and Frank53!

Just got back from having breakfast with some friends. Six to twelve inches on the roads, and very little plowing being done. Thank goodness for four wheel drive. We have had a LOT of snow here so far this season, and it isn't even officially winter yet - hard to say what THAT will bring!
The so called dumb animals have more sense than I do - they go hibernate until spring!

Good afternoon from Buckeyeland, where we have had rain, sleet and now snow.

Cedarcreekrr... How is the CSX doing in Garrett? For those with a lack of education in the history of the B&O, Garrett, Indiana is named for John Garrett, one of the past presidents of the B&O railroad. Garrett's High School sports teams are named the "Railroaders". Today the CSX has double mainline tracks through Garrett and you can really see some great freights running through the countryside.

Jon...Likewise, I am a big TMCC user, but I'll wait until the Chief and all the rest of the gang debug the system for me. BTW, does this new legacy system give off smells of burning brakes and diesel exhaust fumes?

Frank53...And the puzzle continues. Looking good!! :thumb:

I can't believe it, but I'm done Christmas Shopping. Good Ole J.C. Penny's website is hard to beat! :thumb:

Browns and Bill will be playing in 1/2 hours. This should be good especially in the snow and wind.

See ya down the tracks,

Afternoon. First time I have come home from the local Raleigh train show with a full grin. I got there early and was browseing when I came upon a table with guy just putting his prices on his items. Saw two ZW's for $50 each. Ran over and got Jerry and Steve [Miss Edna's "workers"]. They went over and investigated. By then he had priced most of his items. I got all of this which is scale, new and in the box. Lionel operating oil derick $35, Lionel operating crane car $35 and Cotton Belt box car for $20. I'm happy.

Buckeye there are still several trains running through a day, too bad most of the original complex is gone. I have thought about modeling what it look liked in its hayday but pictures are hard to come by. I am still working on getting information.

Afternoon, all!

Cold and windy in Prattville today. Went over to Montgomery for lunch with wife's sister's family for early Christmas dinner. Back at the church now. Youth have their musical program tonight.

Hope everyone's having a good Sunday!

Afternoon, all!

Cold and windy in Prattville today. .....

Hope everyone's having a good Sunday!

Same here. Went to feed the deer and thought they were going to get in the truck with me to get warm. Wind hawling and temps dropping. Went to Food Lion for wife. Dirt on paved parking lot was stinging everyone. One wreath on upstairs windows blew over the house and into the back yard. Frosty on front roof is still hanging on. Blowup penguin is still tanding. If you read above about my finds, been a great Sunday for me. God bless.

I dropped one of my passenger cars from the Hogwarts express on the concrete floor.

The rear truck broke completely. Cheap plastic truck. I'll have to check with Lionel and see how much a replacement set of trucks will cost me. I think the front one just came apart, but I'll have to look it over after I calm down some more. It could have been a lot worse - could have been the locomotive.

Brutus: last year one of the cats dropped a chair on the Polar Express. Knocked a few wheels loose and broke one of the coupler operating things. Shop repaired it for basically price of the part; I managed to do the wheels myself. Found a dent in the track when I set it up this year.
The trucks (actually, bogies) look like models of proper British ines (if the catalog's right); they won't match anything on any other car.

Snow finally made it here; I measured 9" in the road tonight. Shovelled 3 times then again after the plough went through. Predicting more. We didn't move any farther than the driveway today.

Just playin' around with the placement of a few structures I did a few years back:

Not sure what to do about this coaling tower. I like it too much not to use it, but I just can't find a logical spot for it:

The LionelVille station howevere, will be at the end of Kirkland Place:

Good looking Frank. You would have had a fit at Miss Edna's yesterday. Jerry had boxes of outstanding Post War engines, accessories and cars. Even had O track and switches. People were jumping all over it. Told him that I would call you if he wanted me too. When I left, a guy from VA was there acting like he would take it all. He did sell a New York Cental ABA set [no battery damage at all] for about 3/4 the book price.

Jim, if bet they are not the same but I have lots of plastic trucks.

Good night all.

Chief:

Thanks Chief. Sorry you didn't call, no doubt I would have done something irresponsible, and been a happy guy because of it.
