Morning, Grits sound great about now! Plenty to do this weekend. Got some filming today and Monday/Tuesday will be the big train scene. It should be lots of fun, but lots of work too.

Hope everyone has a blessed weekend

Good morning from a snowy and grey Pearl Harbor Day in Crystal Lake - spent the last hour shoveling snow from the driveway and neighbors. I'll check for the transformers in phase - thanks for the suggestion. James looks funny but still he's a nice engine. I'm also going to swap wires on a transformer to see if I can get the whistle to blow.

I still have only the over-air channels for cable and POTS for phone. Someday we'll probably have to switch...

Floyd, just browsed a K-line reprint of a Lionel engine repair manual in our public library of all places yesterday.

Good Morning !

Happy Pearl Harbor Day! Its always thought provoking to take a moment and appreciate what everyone had to live through during that time! God Bless them! We certainly owe them a lot!

Thanks for the comments regarding Chris, we are extremely proud of him!

Mitch - Don't they realize with whom they are messing with? We are going to be seeing some major changes in our pick-up this spring. Three trucks instead of one, each picking up sorted trash, (Green, recyclable, and trash).

This major storm that is coming through so far is really wimpering out! I don't think we have had a 1/2" all night, and the sun is shinning. The national news is portraying a far different situation!

Anyway, I think I have a solution!! If we could get all the grits available we could cover the hillsides, and then there would NOT be any threat of fire, mudslides, or even earthquakes. That stuff would hold everything solid! The only downside could be the potential smell. Have to see about an environmental study being done. THAT's it!!! Major program for our newly elected mayor....... EXPORTING GRITS TO OTHER STATES FOR LAND PRESERVATION. Think of the uniqueness, and potential revenue!! There could be the possibility of 1 state being expelled from the Union however. Something to think about!

Got our Big Boy back! Was a joyous celebration. More engine chatter going on than you would hear in ANY Thomas video! Tonight wife is hosting the monthly "Bunco" gathering. Probably a good night for Chris and I to go play pool.

Hope everyone has a great DAY !!!

A little problem solving issue, as there will be a cliffside in this area flaring down from the structures above:

A dirt road will come in from the left for the convenience of visitors to "Wicked Wanda's".

I will continue the road past the structure and into the cliffisde using the tunnel portal, which will also allow access to the light switch behind it:

Good morning folks

It has been a rough morning. My daughter woke up coughing and crying. She said that it felt like she had a lump caught in her throat. So we went off to the pediatricians’ office. She has a sinus infection and an ear infection. It then took me three pharmacies before I found one that had all the medication she needs in stock. I finally made it to work in time for our office Pollyanna drawing.

It was 29 F when we started our adventures this morning. Our high is supposed to be 38 F. We are expecting a wintry mix this afternoon and could have freezing rain tomorrow morning.

We were supposed to go on a Cub Scout trip on Saturday but we canceled it due to not enough people, but given the weather forecast of freezing rain it looks like a good thing that we are not going. Instead we may take the train into Philadelphia to see the Light Show at Macys (used to be Lord & Taylor’s; used to be John Wanamaker’s) and other Christmas displays. We also have some Christmas shopping to finish.

On the workbench I still have grab irons to install on the Walthers Reading coil cars. On the layout I am still adding details to the Farm House Area. I am also beginning to think about the next area to work on.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Tom, hope your daughter feels better by the time you get home from work.
Don, what is the difference between recyclable and green trash? Everything colored green?

Doug - Green trash is lawn clippings, tree / shrubs similiar stuff. (Grits requires Hazardous Mat. containers.)

Oh... Our town picks up brown-bagged leaves in the fall and cut brush in the spring. The garbage guys will take lawn clippings in a special container but its pricey. So I just leave them be... I'm happy to not have to see the lawn for the next few months.

Tired - worked hard today (brain power) then sat through 2 plus hour "training" that consisted of a doc saying well, that's what you'll get in reports because of "variability" among examiners blah blah blah. Useless.

We were talking about Pearl Harbor Day at work. Remember in the 70's when they busted into one of the sunken ships and found there had been survivors trapped inside, at least for a while. A day that will continue to live in infamy.

Went out to eat with friends after work (raining again, but not freezing this time - yet) and then all came to our house to play cards for a while. New Monk and Psych episodes taped. Watched Monk - good one, but can't let daughter watch it as she still believes in the S man.

Doug - it was magic reindeer feed corn to be specific!

Oh, my Overton cars came for the 19th C train! Ho Ho Ho! Wife is mad, cause I bought all my Christmas presents for myself this year - well, this way I got what I want!

Good Morning............
It is a cold 34 degrees. Light rain. Snow is melting. Going up to 38 today with heavy clouds.
Today is an inside day. I think I will take it easy and spend some time in the train room. Run trains and work on scenery.
Everyone have a nice day.

HAVE FUN!!!! Get your money's worth of food :D :D A friend of mine and his wife are going to the theater on Rt 30 today... :) They are going shopping after...

N Gauger - Show was good, so was food. Thought I was going to burst. we went with a group from Mom & Dad's church. Mom is recovering from heart bypas surgery and thought the day would be too long for her. we did not ride the bus with them. Mrs. stopped and shopped for a few minutes at one of the outlet stores. Did not buy anything.

Dr. John - mmmm vegetable soup. What time is dinner? :) Loved the videos of those Marx streamliners.

Have a great day.

Morning all. A quick post from the hospital, have one Pt. to check on. Then I have plenty of honey dos to get to. Lots of outside work, but should be beautiful as temps to the low 80s.

Got some work to do on the layout tonight, but have the HDs to finish first, so Y'all have a good day, gotta run.

Morning. Bacon and waffles. Sun is out and temps are WARM. Seniors' Luncheon at Church at noon. Finish layout for kid and hopefully deliver it along with a train and cars. Have a great day.

PS: Got letter from US Airways. Paying full value of camera stolen from checked bag. Said they hoped I would view this as an exception and not a normal thing.

Bitter cold this morning in Crystal Lake. More snow on the way from Iowa - thanks Jon. Congrats on your reimbursement, Chief. On the way to visit Santa with the youngest.

Good answer, Jim - you are correct.
