Good evening,

Just got home from the Christmas celebration at Messiah College. Great meal, met lots of old friends and the music was fabulous. The Jazz group was the high point of the evening for me. The featured soloist, Tim Warfield, is a master of the Sax.

Chief, Sounds like a nice layout for the little guy.

Well off to bed.

Now through 07:00 AM CST December 02, 2007

Patchy fog is being reported across much of the area...becoming dense over portions of southwest Louisiana. This fog is expected to linger until shortly after sunrise. If traveling...allow for extra time to reach your destination.

Today High: 78 Mostly cloudy. Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning...then a chance of showers and slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

I found an old Athearn BB SD40-2 collecting dust in the display case at the LHS and decided to give it a good home. It was an undecorated offering. So far I have the KCS gray on it and have yet to apply the yellow stripe and the couplers. This will be be a new re-do of the old 666 when it's finished.

Morning!

Spent the day working on the Christmas layout, while Bride and 3-yo were making cookies. 9-mo decided the Dept56 boxes were delicious. 3-yo decorated ALL the cookies. She used paint brushes to paint the cookies with icing, and added the sprinkles with a spoon. She had a great time..sorry forgot to take pictures. Mom and daughter needed a nap after that.

Added 1" inclines for the trestle, and added Buffalo Snow on top, looks like the SF fog just rolled in. Needed to cut snow out from under superstreets, too bumpy.

Tip for Christmas layout w/ fabric covering board:
Drill holes as needed in foam/plywood, cover, and shine light up thru holes from the bottom. Sure is easier to find the holes you just drilled.

Off to eat the best cookies in the world! ...and more wiring, then church, baybe a Christmas tree this afternoon. Not much of a winter storm here. Just a dusting of snow/ice, not even enough to shovel.

Kurt

Good Morning..............
It's a dark and rainy 34 degrees. Going up to 55 today with more rain on the way.
Today is a good day to run trains and take it easy. Can't do much outside. Christmas lights are all up and working. Wife is cooking a nice dinner today.
Everyone have a nice day,
Chuck

Biting a flea!!!! :p
Morning all. Cloudy and cold. Why, Christmas parade in Roseyville this afternoon. Wife had suddenly realized she invited 25 people to have lunch and watch the parade. Its funny to see her go into panic mode. Just like Lucy [I Love Lucy]. Going to be riding in a convertible so will wear hat and all to prevent this cold from getting worse. Have a good one.

Good Morning. Been working on the track plan and . . . .

With the possible addition of two hidden storage sidings, this is probably it:

didn't quite get all of the 3d in, but you get the idea:

The inclusion of switches to connect the inner and outer loops on both sides enables a train on the outer loop to switch to the inner loop and vice versa, as well as allowing the outer loop train to enter the inner loop and use a reversing loop and then return to the outer loop.

A bright/cold morning in Iowa, what a strange weather day yesterday. We experienced everything including fog when we went to bed. The temps actually ended up going up once it got dark with winds out of the south, sadly during the night the winds switched back to the north so now it's cold again.

What a crazy day for the college football games yesterday, the Buckeye's must be very happy today.

The tree goes up today and a new plan from Thor will be the rule of the day. Kind of looking forward to something different. Maybe a pic tomorrow.

Frank53...Looks great..!! 'scuze my ignorance....Is that all done with commercially available track, or will you have to "cut & paste" some to get it to fit..? Also...Whereabouts will the storage sidings be..??

all tubular track - a few straights cut to fit.

No room for storage sidings unfortunately. I am trying not to clutter the layout with too much track in favor of structures and scenery.
