Happy Birthday Dr. John, and many, many more!

Frank53--really appreciate your construction photo's, thank you!

Introduced the Granddaughter to Thomas today, what a treat. Photo's tomorrow with a little luck. Here I have this big 'ol layout downstairs and the best smiles of the day were in the piano room with a simple oval--go figure.

Thanks to all for your kind comments.

Frank53! A 1688 set will greatly enhance the looks of your layout & they're less expensive than a Flying Yankee to boot!

Show me the way . . .

I think that your Father would have enjoyed what you are doing with his Trains if he were still around.

That was very thoughtful, thank you for that.

And many more, Dr. John!

Doug M! Welcome sir! I'm VERY glad to see you posting. I do like the software here a lot better, you can also scroll down and see the most recent posts etc. Love the Bill S quote too! :thumb:

Found a new "LHS" about 1/2 hour from my house. I really liked the store and they have a TON of PW Lionel trains. I picked up some gargraves with which to experiment and checked out some Ross Custom Switches. Got some "Cedar" megasteam - remember that was recommended by someone. Also picked up some fence for the farmyard and a lumber shed kit. I noticed that the K-Line by Lionel Barn and Chicken Coop set was Supposed to include a tiny bag of windows and doors that was missing from the kit that I received. I will be emailing TRAINZ shortly to see if they will send me just that little baggy or if I need to call Lionel or something. Unfortunately, my daughter and I already glued together the barn and chicken coop, just missing those little details.

John S, hope you are enjoying your days off! Good luck swiching your sleep schedule to days so soon.

I did want to mention one thing to the guys moving over from the other forum. Please make an effort to get to know the guys who were here before. On occasion Ngauger (Mikey) will post on this thread and he is a nice guy who participated in the Chief "grits raid" in Harrisburg. Others as well who work in N & HO as well as S & O also post so Please be inclusive in your comments.

One thing I love about this forum is that you can read the recent post while you are typing your post. Great idea that I wish others would copy.

John

Hey John I'm use to this format as I use it when I go to another forum Which also is all gauges/scales. I feel we can all learn something from each other no mater the scale/gauge as it a lot the same just some do it in a larger mode or smaller mode than others.

Thanks for the welcome and glad to be here it been getting wild in the other not sure what all was said or done but thats there. not here.

N gauger I probaly grew up close to where you are not sure exact where you are but I grew up in West Chester, PA.

Yes CTT gang. Great group of regulars. Even one from South Africa.

DR. JOHN bday1balloon6of all people for me to miss his Birthday. See guys, I've met this REBEL preacher. Like some of the others, broken bread with him. No finer guy.

Now as for the suit. Was outside as it was so hot inside the CU with the suit on. Under the suit was a vest with frozen cool packs in big pockets in front and back. Bike helment inside the head. Mesh at the eyes so you could see out. You could talk and they hear you. Mouth did not move. I was sweating at first. Temps outside dropped and I got comfortable. Lady hugging me is Ship-on-Site buddy next door to the CU. I use her most of the time to ship stuff. The one time I did not, was a real mess [right John Seaman?]. The fun was the kids riding by waving and making their Moms or Dads stop and they would come hug me. Lots fo kids have the special Fat Cat account with the CU.

Back from big steak meal with In-laws. 50th wedding anv.

GREAT NEWS FOR THE BUCKEYES. NCSU lost again.

Gang, I find this software a lot friendlier than the "new" CTT. This one was slow but they upgraded and now it works great for me. Don't get me wrong. I love CTT as it was my first TRAINS home. Will always post there. My word is IGNORE IGNORE.

Good morning folks (it is after midnight here)

I am just getting around to looking in on the forum. It has been a long day. We did the grocery shopping thing. We also took my father-in-law around so he could do some Christmas shopping. He is 74 and not getting around too good anymore. He can’t drive due to his diabetes and walking the malls is getting tougher and tougher for him. My wife and daughter started the Christmas dress horror. Two stores and they did not find any that they like for my daughter. This most likely means a trip to Delaware for us tomorrow. We also did some of our Christmas shopping and I will say we are about half way done.

will check out tomorrow after scouting for food!

How did you scouting for Food go?

We did our Scouting for Food this morning. I have to say it was disappointing. My son distributed 25 bags in the neighborhood last week and got 6 back today. Overall between our Pack and our Boy Scout Troop we did about 600 cans. Last year it was over a 1,000 cans. We think it is because of the economy around here. Gas prices are too high and everyone is scared to death of the heating bill. We also noticed it with popcorn sales as we sold $1,500.00 less than last year.

No modeling.

I hope everybody has a good night/day.

Sorry I missed your Birthday Dr. John, as Chief said, of all people's birthdays to miss... Anyway, hope it was a good one.
Jon, glad to see you here. Your layout has served as a lot of inspiration for me, as has Frank53's and several others.
I read through the last several pages on the other pot and I know I will post a lot less there. Sad, but I will probably focus more time on actually getting layout done and less computer time. I will still check in here as y'all are my friends, but it will be less here and there, but I will be here more than there....I'm getting confused.
Chief, great to talk with you today. Thanks for the present. I hope you treated yourself to something special at Ms. Edna's today.
Keith (1688), hope you are feeling better.
Hope everyone has a blessed week ahead.
Dennis

While all you guys were sleeping, I was working, but I did take time out to install these great shelves Mrs 53 made for me for my spare engines. The color scheme just rocks!

99896584.jpg

There are four shelves total - two orange and two blue.

Ran out of gas and I have a full day of "work work" on tap for tomorrow. Track plan will have to wait another day.

Is your FiL still living on his own? Prayers for his continued health.
Nice site you have here, interesting group of modelers!

Morning all. Off to Early Church. Then down east to Mom's for her Thanksgiving. Pam cooks and we take a full meal. Mom is 91 and does not travel up to see us [even though we always offer to go get her and take her back]. Christmas Eve noon, we do Christmas with her. When Dad was living, they use to drive up on Thanksgiving and Christmas and eat with Pam's folks [big family]. Thanks to Jeffrey, Frank53 and Tom P [and others] for great photos. Frank, wife did a good job on shelves. Looks like she covered them.
All have a great day. Hope Don B and Doug W do not get bad winds and fires in CA.

Good Morning...........
It is a cold, cloudy morning. No snow or rain.
Today is a relaxing day. Home made soup for supper. I think I will run trains this afternoon.
Nascar race is last one of the season.
Everyone have a nice day,
Chuck

Good Morning All from NE Ohio
Where the temp is 37 and the weatherman can't make up his mind as to what's coming. Be sure though, we will have snow this winter! sign1

Dr John - sorry for missing you bday2 have a happy day after balloon6

We have been very busy at the Museum, making changes to the O gauge layout and getting ready for our Open House (Dec 9).

Two weeks ago - on temp foam and tube track
47b7d733b3127ccebb39f67e784e00000027101AaNGjRm0Ysd

Then we added a second smaller loop
47b7d733b3127ccebb39f49af99b00000027101AaNGjRm0Ysd

Then we replaced the outer loop with GG at 072 curves
47b7ce34b3127ccebd97707d397e00000037101AaNGjRm0Ysd

And now the foam is gone and the permint track is in place.
