Glad to hear that it went well, Les. I wanted to have my layout on the annual tour that takes place every Fall around here, but my wife said, "No way! I'm not having a bunch of nutty train moles coming out of their basements to traipse around here!!":confused: I didn't think that that was very fair of her, but I'm guessing that she made that assessment based solely on me. ;):-D:-D:-D

Good for you Lester! Sound effects are a great attention grabber.

Doc, "train moles"?! :) My wife will get a kick out of that one.

Lester, glad to hear things went so well. I have my openhouse in a couple of weeks. I hope I have the same success you did.

Hey DocW... I don't think there are any train moles in Texas. One less thing to worry about, ya know.

you are only 2 weeks away. you only need a circl of track a plan for where you are going and if there is an openhouse schedule where you live to get on. your done. people will check you out and ask about your plans and make suggestions. believe me I was no where near sceniced or all my track down for first open house 11 years ago. but i went for it and it forces me to do stuff to improve every year because people come back year after year to see what I have done. oh yeah the 2 weeks is for clean up. . this goes for any one. you don't know what you have until someone tells you.

Well, it was Fun!!!! According to the GPS, I drove 210 miles criss-crossing through Delaware. I left my house and picked up my friend and his daughter at 9:30 am, Got to Lester's about 10:30 am and spent 8 - 1/2 more hours visiting 3 more HO layouts. (and stopping for lunch).

It was the first time for my friends, they both loved the real countryside of Delaware and the people nice enough to let strangers into their beautiful homes... To see the 4 fantastic layouts!!

My friend got a bunch of information and ideas for his HO layout. Les, they really liked that short line you have :D :D THANKS!!! And Best Of Luck!!!!

Wayne: I was going to ask if you would be on the tour. Well, take your wife around instead.
When the busload of NMRA types came around, I entertained a third of them at a time in the basement and my wife had the rest in the garden. Some of them had a garden layout all planned for her before they left.
We'll have to try the Delaware tour some year.

I think that Mister Nutbar and I are going this year. Wifey won't go, which is just as well: I can enjoy myself. ;):-D Delaware sounds like a fun trip, with maybe a side-jaunt to see Gary's layout. We could call it the GERN world tour. :-D:-D
