Hi all, been a LONG while since I posted here. Thanks for the invite, Chief. I'm not posting much on CTT these days, so I thought I'd drop in over here and see how things are going. Found some interesting O gauge posts this evening.

Nice fall day in central Alabama. The rain has moved on and the sun came out but it's still on the cool side. Supposed to be in the upper 40's tonight.

Morning all. Total of 6 1/2+ inches of rain for the event. Thanks to the Lord for pulling us out [not all the way yet but a great start]. Pond rising fast. Off to Train Days in Hamlet NC. Back later this PM. Sure is nice to see the "gang" posting over here too. Lot "better".

'Morning, all! Clear and chilly this AM in central Alabama. I've fed the dogs and had my toast w/ grape jelly and am still working on my first cup of coffee.

Mrs. Dr. J is in Mobile for a nursing conference, then she will attend her 30th high school reunion this afternoon before coming home. Our church is helping a small, struggling church with a block party this afternoon to reach out to some folks in their community. I have the fun job - announcing door prizes!

Chief, thanks for the tip on Choochooauctions.com. I've won two nice postwar pieces the past couple of weeks - a Lionel boxcab electric, and a black NYC 6462 gondola. Great place for postwar stuff and usually cheaper than the 'bay.

Have a good day, everyone!

Congrats Dr. John!! It's always a nice feeling when you win an auction

Chief - we heard up here that there was flooding around the Carolinas... is that "Full pond" a good thing???? :) :)

We're almost out of it, more rain for this afternoon and then clear and crispy tonight.. I might have to bring out the binoculars and look at the stars and planets :) :)

I may actually take a small break from the E-mag (we're working on it already for January) and work on the engine sputtering problem or do a bit more on the Gauge party engine... :) we'll see what the day brings....

Thanks, N Gauger. I've been wanting to get a boxcab for quite a while. They're hard to find in pristine condition at a reasonable price.

Chief, glad the rain did you some good. We had some good rain down here too, but could use some more.

Full pond is good. Has not run out the spillway since late April. Was down 5 feet. I'm lucky. My pond [3 acres] is 20 feet deep and 12 to 16 in a large portion. Still had plenty of water. Some here were mud puddles and lost fish. Mine had tall grass growing in the empty shallows and up the bank to the normal level edge. Grass carp are going ot gorge themselves now.

Did not miss anything in Hamlet [Seaboard Day]. I had been on the private tour of the depot and seen the layout. Remember the photos I posted? 90% food venders and 10% crafts. Lots of people milling around and not moving. Like the midway at the State Fair. No fun. Ate in a restaurant and left.

Well, glad to see more of the gang stopping by and posting. Hatter, keep your roof on.:cry:

OH forgot. The advar for Dr. John, perfect likeness.
