Good morning folks
It is raining and it looks like it will be a soaker. We really need a good soaker so that the ground feels like ground again instead of concrete. It was 67 F when I left home. The high should be 70 F with rain.
Interesting day at the office yesterday. A water main broke and the office had no running water. Since the township we are in is very strict about building codes and occupation codes they had to close the office. Only problem was I was on a field view in upper Bucks County. I was relieved when we got back to the office and I could get in to reterive my belongings before I went home.
I continued working on the Accurail Lehigh Valley boxcar. I also began working on an Accurail Penn Central 40’ AAR Boxcar. I pulled out a Bev-Bel/Athearn Family Lines 50’ Double Door kit to assemble. I also have 2 Trainman ACF 50’6” Boxcars (Ashley Drew & Northern), a Atlas 60’ Single Door Auto Parts Boxcar (Chessie – B&O), a Atlas 60’ Double Door Auto Parts Boxcar (Western Maryland), and a Athearn RTR 50’ Superior Door Boxcar (Norfolk & Western) pulled out of the pile for weathering.

Morning. PRAISE THE LORD, raining in Rolesville. Witnessed a shuttle launch fairly close up several years ago [had a pass]. The sound and vibration enters your chest and what a feeling. Got lunch meeting with County Commissioners and County Manager about schools properties. Now going to do a Cabela's Grand Opening in Hartford CT in Nov. Later
Not that you could say it was definitively the Shuttle. Though when it returns to the Cape, the Double Sonic Booms have rattled the windows and the wife's china cabinet. They're BIG, DEEP, Boom-BOOMs...

It is wet and chilly in these parts this morning. We are now in our second day of four of rain. We really need this rain so complaining is being kept to a minimum. It was 51 F as I headed out this morning. Our high is supposed to be 57 F.
I finished assembling the Accurail Lehigh Valley 50’ Boxcar and I am almost done the Accurail Penn Central 40’ Boxcar. I began working on the Bev-Bel/Athearn SCL boxcar.

Morning. Did nto have the 3 inches of rain but 2 1/4+. Happy for that. Suppose to rain all day and into tomorrow and maybe Saturday. Saturday is Trains Day in Hamlet NC. Wife [can't believe it] was going with me. We'll see. Meeting with DOT this afternoon. Maybe trains time this AM. We'll see. Got to run some errands [one being get Pastport apps, did pictures last night]. Have a good one.

Saw 8 NS diesels and 1 CN [on the rearof the diesels] all MU'd together. Never seen so much motive power together. My guess was they were towing some engines somewhere. Anyone know any different?. Around here Conrail used to run what we called the Engine Changers. It would be 6 to 12 locos from switchers to six-axle units. They would go from yard to yard changing out engines that were due for maintainence.

Now it is beginning to feel like Fall. Temperature was 53 F when I rolled out of the driveway with some light rain. The high today is only supposed to be 59 F and we have a 100% chance of rain all day. My son’s final football practice for the season will be a muddy mess.
I finished assembling the Accurail Penn Central boxcar and the Bev-Bel/Athearn Seaboard Coast Line boxcar. I also changed out the plastic E-Z Mate or McHenry couplers to Kadee couplers on the Athearn RTR 50’ boxcar.
Another crazy weekend on tap. Saturday my daughter has her final basketball clinic. My son has Cub Scout Fitness Day and in the afternoon our pack is participating in the Aronimink Station Business Association Fall Festival. Sunday is the season finale for my son’s football team.
I have 8 boxcars I would like to weather this weekend. Also I would like to start detailing the Farm House area on the layout.
