Using flex track

nolink: I use either track cutters/rail nippers (by Xuron or others) or a razor saw with one of those plastic jigs that keep the track solid while you saw. You'll need a small file to clean up the rough bits.
A Dremel tool with a cutting disk also works and can clean up the rail ends as well. They don't make right angle cuts if the track's already laid.

What is the best tool to use for cutting flex track to the length you want?
P.S. Gary, did you get any pics?

I recommend the Xuron nippers. Dont' use them on anything else. I use them on N scale track and rarely have to clean up a cut. Only one side of the cut is square, so the orientation of the tool matters.

Oops, sorry, no pics as of yet. I had to work Saturday, and didn't have the camera at home on sunday, worked all day into the night on Monday, daughter's swim meet last night, but may get home early tonight. I'll see if I can make it happen for ya.:eek:ops:

Oh darn, I just noticed that this is the N scale forum. I'm HO. Well, I guess the techniques are still the same.

I went to Xuron's web site. Which nippers are you talking about? Do you have a part #???? Also, where can you buy them? There web site only or can you get them locally somewhere?

nolink: they should be available at any good hobby shop. There are other makes -- I have a set that's the same size as regular wire cutters; the difference is that regular wire cutters have >< shaped cutters while the rail nippers have one side flat.
