Great shots -- I especially like the very last one.

So BNSF comes up into Manitoba? I didn't know that (I'm still trying to figure out which regions the various railway companies travel to).

Thanks,
Rob

BNSF has it's own operation here independent from the main BNSF system. The yard and trackage were originally owned by Great Northern Railway, then sold to The City of Winnipeg, and now owned by BNSF. The yard has an old GP9 for switching duties and interchanges with CN at Fort Rouge yard.

After cars are dropped off at Fort Rouge, a once daily train takes the cars to North Dakota I believe via CN's Letallier subdivision.

I may have missed some details, but that's the gist of it!

Next time I'm out I'll try to get some yard shots, hopefully the engine will be out

This is original trackage connecting BNSF Manitoba with CN rivers. The stamp reads: G.N Line Lackawanna 9030 4 1910.

Sorry about the mass amount of photos, I still have many many more, though these are some of the better ones. If anyone wants to view all my pics, including rolling stock please visit my RRarchives.net page at rrarchives.net

Some of the pictures may appear distorted or blurry here, I had to resize them so it wouldn't take up a larger amount fo room than it already has.

Cheers!

CN paint makes even GEs look good... :D

lol that's true, though I'd be happier if I saw new units in the good ol' zebra scheme, or even paint some back into GTW colours!

Maybe CN should do a heritage thing like UP, Paint some engines GTW, DMIR, CV, IC, WC,DWP, classic CN Schemes green and gold and zebra!

I think when I get my layout started I'm going to go all out Canadian National heritage!
