Weekly Photo Fun of The Week:9/28

eightyeightfan1

Now I'm AMP'd
I usually come here at eight o'clock every night. Can't wait on Fridays, because of the Photo Fun of The Week threads. Usually, there are already five or six pics posted before I can even get here. This week....Nothing!
Whats up?

Oh...well....guess I'll have to start it this week.

For some time now, I've been saying that I have an Athearn Blue Box F7 that runs very quiet. Now I have a video that proves it. Two locos will make a runby. The first is a Proto 2000 PA1. The second is the Athearn F7. Is it quiet? you be the judge.

eightyeightfan1 - Nice Big Boy!:thumb:
jeffrey-wimberl - Those are quieter than any HO scale that I have.

Hello, haven't been here in a few days, had a long, hard week. However, something new arrived for the layout.

Here's a shot I don't think I've posted on this site before.

From an era when being held up at the RR crossing by a passing train was an event that was relished, not cursed about.

KCS SD60 Rollout

KCS sent its SD60 for repaint and refurb at Davidson's Repair. They were kind to tell me of the rollout date so I could snap some quick pictures. Ross didn't get across the tracks in time and had to wait while the big diesel slowly made its way out of the facility - but when I chided him about it he told me he didn't care...he'd already clocked in. I swear he never moves from that spot anyway.

SP 5686 at Limpia Crossing

Asleep at the switch. I almost forgot about weekend photos. Another one of my West Texas shots. I really don't like that tree now that I see it close-up. Maybe I will take it out.

Good pics everyone. Thanks for sharing!!

Bryantm - Nice Picture:thumb: I agree with chessie4155, tree looks fine!
chessie4155 - Nice Shot, send a newbie in to clean the handrails!
Herc - Nice engine:thumb:
CNJ999 - Nice picture! I live in an area with no track whatsoever, so we pull off the freeway to get stopped at a crossing when we see a train:thumb:
Deano - Great Location shot:thumb: I love that train and the rusted track.

Chessie4155 - Yes the engine is a GP40-2, it looks pretty comparable to the real one (RailPictures.Net Photo » Canadian Pacific Railway EMD GP40-2), although the real one doesn't appear to have horns on the cab.

I love all of the different styles of layouts that everyone has. There is something cool and unique about each of them!:thumb:
