Greetings Horst from 'way downunder',
Your models look very nice indeed. I too plan on doing a range of Coastal Forces (Allied only, mainly RN & RAN) models using card models as a basis in 350 and 144 scales, detailing them with brass/resin parts and also having crew figures. These will be already made, painted and mounted on some form of base as they will be waterline. The first model I'm 'playing' with at present is a 144 scale RAN Fairmile B class ML 825.
I plan to order two of your models soon and NO I can assure you I will NOT make them to resell. I wish you well in this venture and perhaps we can work together on some projects. If you wish to respond personally my e-mail address is: debrogerp@hotmail.com.

Cheers,
Roger Pearson.

They look excellent! I am eagerly awaiting receipt of my order. The models are small enough that I may actually finish them.

Wow! I ordered them all online while I was vacationing in France. Received the order (back in the USA) today in excellent condition. Initial evaluation - Paper Shipwright quality (in other words, pretty d--- fine) and spiral-bound. I'll try to get a first impressions review posted in the next couple days.

B-Manic,
the Fairmile Bs will come next year in four Royal Navy versions. Perhaps I will also offer a Canadian version.

Thanks, I await patiently - really I can wait really I can . . .

Seriously your models look great and I have heard great things about them, keep up the good work. If you do a Canadian version there are a couple of Canadian Naval Associations and Historical Societies that may be convinced to add a link to your site on thiers.

New: Armament Carrier Mortar (1943)

Hello,
CFP has released a new card model kit, the British armament carrier MORTAR, one of a class of 5 freighters ordered by the Admiralty. Mortar was built by James Pollock, Sons & Co., Faversham, Kent, delivered Dec. 1943.

She was designed to the lines of a small coastal freighter, which were well known trading along the British coast. After the war Mortar served on the Clyde and was sold in 1973.

Best regards
Horst

Bionic Modeler

I have a soft spot for coastal ships. I don't know why since most people like the heavy warships. I think they have more character. I love your models and your site. They are worth every penny of what you are asking. Unfortunately for someone like me I can't afford the exchange rate. (U.S. $). so I will have to just sit in the peanut gallery and watch you guys build them. so please share your build I am anxious to see them. And no this is not a sympathy post. Just a reality check. If you ever post a freeby I will be first in line.

Greetings all from OZ,:wave::twisted:

The attached pics show my very early and basic ‘tinkerings’ with the excellent card model kits produced by “Coastal Forces in Paper”, owned by Horst Muerell of Germany. His models are printed in 1:250 scale, but I am changing the scale to predominantly 1:144th with some also in the larger 1:72nd scale. By tinkering I mean, changing the scale in the first place, then experimenting with card thicknesses to ascertain a suitable thickness for the different types and sizes of parts.

The attached photo’s depict the following: As I haven't done this before I HOPE ?? the captions match the photo's.

DSC02218.JPG
Shows all five models I’ve been ‘tinkering’ with in both 144th and 72nd scales. Some figures can be seen (my models WILL have visible crew figures) and they will also feature some of the excellent available guns in both scales from White Ensign Models and maybe Great Little Ships.

DSC02221.JPG
Shows HDML 1285 in 144th scale. The original kit’s parts page under the model is at 1:250 scale so you can see the size difference. WEM’s 20mm single Oerlikon is sitting on the aft coach roof.

DSC02222.JPG
This shot is of the Fairmile A class minelayer ML 103 and is sitting on a photo from the excellent Lambert & Ross book “Allied Coastal Forces” vol 1.

DSC02223.JPG
Now we get to the larger ‘experiments’ with both of these models being of the St Nazaire HQ ‘little ship’ MGB 314 using CFinP’s kit of MGB 328. The smaller model is to 144th scale shown resting on the 250th scale parts page while the much larger model is to 72nd scale with the mast being scratch-built from photo’s and diagrams in the afore-mentioned book.

DSC02225.JPG

DSC02226.jpg
Is the HDML 1285 kit enlarged to 72nd scale resting on a photo of the RAN’s HDML 1347 which my model will be based on.

I am VERY excited about the forthcoming Fairmile Bs and will do one in 72nd scale as the Aussie ML 825, the only RAN 'B' to down a Japanese 'Zero' in a one-on-one duel.

No Mike, they are ALL waterline only. Having said that, there is no reason why the lower hull couldn't be added in some ???? way.
