Afternoon all. Slow day here. Wife has sinus headache [fall is here I guess]. Got newpaper interview in afew minutes. Yes!!! On Sunday. Guy lives up the street and is walking down to visit. Taking him to the pond and show him around [he has never seen it]. Want to work on backroom part of layout. Hope he gets his "news" and goes. Hope to do more on layout tomorrow. Nothing near as exciting as either of you... I'm a stay at home dad to two young boys (2 and 5 years old). Plus, it still well above 100 down here in Phoenix so we don't do much but stay inside where it's cool. Sometimes I wish I could get out to something like the privacy of a tractor with just me and my thoughts for hours on end.

Good morning folks

It is a sticky 69 F right now. The high today is supposed to be 86 F. For the long weekend we had great weather. It was very pleasant and we did not have to run the a/c at all. I am still home as today is the first day of school and we will be taking them to school. After today they walk.

We enjoyed the long weekend. My wife worked at the museum on Saturday. I brought the kids down and they tested the new scavenger hunt. On Sunday we went to Wildwood Crest and spent the day on the beach. Sunday was we went to the Brandywine Zoo in Wilmington, DE and came home for a barbecue.

I did not get modeling in this weekend. I did get a chance to visit Mitchell’s Hobbies and pick up some scenery supplies.

Yesterday we had a cooling trend, it only reached 109. This is indeed getting old. We broke the record of 28 days of 110 or higher, again and again. We now stand at 32 days of at least 110, 100 days of at least 100. Our average lowest temperature for the summer is around 87, there are days when it doesn't get down to 90. I don't know, but the older you get, the more it's going to bother you... so I'm told.:cry: :cry:

Enough about the weather, it's getting depressing. Maybe, just maybe today I can work on my rails.

I can't imagine hating it more than I do now! ... and it gets worth with age? I need to move... someplace where it rains and you get four seasons instead of summer and not summer... Seattle maybe?

I thought Seattle only had two seasons as well, rain and not rain. The rain sounds good right now, but I think one could get just as tired of it as we are of the heat.

Morning. Up early and been working in backroom on layout. Added a wing on the side so the whole room is benchwork. Now to finish covering it with Soundstop. Got half the room covered and that track back down. Now to get this done before 11:30. Got County Commissioner's meeting this afternoon and Town Board tonight. Watering too. Need rain!!!! Later

I jsut saw that the December Greenberg Show for the Philadelphia area is going to be held at the Sun Center in Aston, PA. Finally a show that I don't have to travel an hour to get to.

Hey, I just now found out that after about five years of no national train show in Phoenix, we are actually getting the Great Train Show Expo, coming to Westworld in Scottsdale on March 8 and 9. The last show we had here was at least five years ago in the Phoenix convention center, downtown... I didn't make that one, but I'm planning on this one in Scottsdale.:thumb:
