DON'T BE THE ONLY ONE !!
Here is your LAST chance to get screwed..... just like I did! Buy this pair of Lionel F-3 shells "custom" painted by Steve Latta at Nostalgia Train Works in Escondido, CA in what he calls "prototype artwork" of Southern Pacific's black widow paint scheme. You won't have to wait more than 5 months as I did (promised in 6 weeks) to what Latta calls "Guaranteed"," Museum quality", "Prototype Artwork" and "Professional" painting and restoration. Yes, now you can have an almost matched pair of shells with all the numerous paint voids, paint checks, orange peel, overspray, absolutely hideous masking in all 3 colors, sloppy and muddy printing, no nose herald, paint chips and the wrong numbers. If you are dumb enough to bid on these, I'll send them to you right away. You will not have to wait. But, frankly, I have seen better paint jobs done by a 10 year old with a spray can.
Don't like them? That's Tough !! I won't refund your money, just like Latta refuses to refund mine. I just don't know what Latta means by "guaranteed". However, I won't lie to you: you are getting a real crappy "custom" paint job. Maybe you would like to have a good laugh in your collection. That's it! Show your friends just what "museum quality" really means. By comparison, everything else in your collection will be "mint". You can't beat this deal. Where else could you upgrade your collection and have so much fun for only $200.00?
This item is relisted. I don't understand why there isn't just one person out there who wants to avoid listening to an endless list of lies and excuses when you can 'take it in the shorts' right now.
I will ship to Canada, France, Nigeria, Iran, Cuba, San Francisco and any other country that supports our glorious paradise seeking terrorists.

Great listing. It's too bad the guy had to pay the auction fees for a $200 auction. But at least he got to spread the word.
For what he paid, he deserves a better paint job - or a refund.

I had to shield my F3's eyes, I couldn't let 'ol 4056 see how horrible this, ah, "Mr. Latta" tortured its cousins.

Remember...it's for fun!
Ouch! The photos of the paint job aren't as bad as I expected them to be though. I've yet to buy on eBay. What recourse would a buyer have under these circumstances?

He maybe right.
But I have seen paint jobs from maunfactures that make those look mint.
Very true. I have a spare Micro Trains Z scale F-7A shell from a Nn3 drivetrain sitting right here on my desk. It was machine painted, yet looks as if a 2 year old did it with finger paints. Absolutely the worst paint job I've ever seen on a factory locomotive.

Not much that I know of. The time period to report this via Ebay would have expired. (including negative feedback)
Even if you paid via PayPal, that time period would have lapsed.
I'm guessing all you could really do is file a complaint with Ebay, and the Better Business Bureau - if the seller is registered.
...Unless he knew of the problems earlier than 90 days after the date of sale. Then he could use any of the avenues above.

Where the damage has already been done, repaint!

Then, of course there's always my favorite solution, one I seem to share with the "Mythbusters".....BOOM !!!

By the way, let's keep the language clean, this is a "family show"
