Durango/Silverton trip

ezdays

Out AZ way
Just a short update. We should have been on our way to Durango right now, except for an unfortunate incident involving me, my bike, a curb and a sidewalk a few days ago.  Well, let's just say it put a damper on my driving long distances, or even enjoying a train ride for now, so we canceled the trip, or postponed it for a little while.:curse: Nothing is broken, but it did a number on my wrist and shoulder and the doctor says it could take six weeks to heal. I just hope we can still make it this season. I'm not into that cold and snow stuff so I think anything past October is going to have to wait until next spring.

Yeah, I'm really disappointed, but it's my own stupid fault.wall1 wall1 wall1 wall1

You gotta stop pulling wheelies and jumping off those curbs... and in this heat at that. I'm surprised you didn't get 3rd degree burns from the pavement when you hit the ground. Maybe it's time to retire the stunt bike and go for a good tricycle!:mrgreen:
NAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Live it up. Get better soon!

Maybe it was that backflip off that ramp that did me in. A tricycle wouldn't have helped much either.:p:p:drag1:

That's too bad.

Maybe you can plan your trip next year during railfest. Sometimes Dan Markoff brings his "toy" to railfest.

Don,
I won't say a single word.  Hope things heal up quickly, the D&SNG is a great ride.

Yeah, it would be a bit embarrassing to think about getting on the train with something broken... or in a cast:twisted:

Healing? Well, I'm getting my range of motion back little-by-little, but it hurts so darn bad that it brings me to the brink of tears sometimes.:-x:-x I think I'm going to install GPS before I get back on that bike "warning, warning, steep curb two feet away".

....Which only goes to show that:
Sumpter250 is:
A. More tolerant of pain than Ezdays.
B. Was on some really neat pharmiceuticals.
C. Is crasier than Ezdays.
D. All of the above.

Those who know me would probably go with B., or C.

I think "B" renders "A" meaningless.:rolleyes: I definitely vote for for "C".:twisted::twisted:

You mean a cast like this one?

Yeah, exactly like that one! sign1 sign1 sign1
That cast was about three days old, and when I left Don's, I headed up to Williams,Az. and the next day, rode the Grand Canyon RR. The day after, drove to Durango, then rode the D&SNG, and then drove home to Illinois.(no cruise control)

Don, C. is the correct answer! balloon6 But B. helped, it was a long 2000 miles  bounce7
