If it wasn't for this contest, three feet of my layout would probably still be blue foam. As it is, I was forced to complete a lot of scenery and plan out a lot of the town and streets to help make my final pictures look as close to the picture on the box as possible (one of the main goals of the contest).

TrainNut is right....That was the reason I joined in the challenge...to get me to build that kit which otherwise would have probably lain in its box for a couple of more years...Also, to work on the area of the layout where it was SUPPOSED to go. As it turned out, it won't go there as the trackage orientation would have it facing backwards....:eek:
But I'm still working on that area anyway now that I got a little steam up to work on the layout...:wave:

Two things, well, three....

I agree with TrainNut, if it wasn't for these contests and challenges, my layout wouldn't be nearly as finished as it is. Give me another ten challenges and I might even get close to having it nearly complete...:mrgreen: :mrgreen: if that sounds vauge, well, it is...:twisted: :twisted:

Secondly, I think every one that entered should be congratulated. We had a two-way tie for most of the race for first place in the scratchbuild challenge and only one vote decided the finish. We need to congratulate:
Jac's Lines
for finishing a close second in the scratchbuild
:wave7::wave7::wave7:

Then we have the kitbuild that finished as a two-way tie, but was a four-way tie for quite a while. Again, only one vote separated the top four entries. So congratulations are in order for:
TruckLover and
TrainNut
for being one vote from taking first place, or technically speaking, tying for third place:rolleyes:

And lastly, everyone who completed these challenges will get a certificate that will be emailed to them. These certificates will be in jpg formate and can be printed out on 8 1/2" x 11" paper. They are fully redeemable at any local Starbuck's. This, and a small $9.95 cover charge will get you one, double-latte caffe chocolate sugar bomb cappuccino with garnish, at any Starbuck's except maybe the half-dozen or so near your house.:p :p :p :p

I thank all of you that participated, you all had great entries, and it was an honor to join you in this, you have all raised the bar with your modeling skills. :thumb: :thumb:

I have emailed all the certificates for these two challenges to each of those that participated. Please let me know if you haven't gotten yours, or if there's a problem in any way, like spelling or the wrong level of achievement. I can also make them in a different formate and higher resolution, but they should be suitable for printing at the resolution I sent them out as.

Congratulations once again to all of you that had participated, you are all winners and should be proud of what you did.

I send my apologies to everyone for not being able to finish the Kitbuild Challenge contest as planned. I was out of the country as the contest closed, and was unable to get pics sent in time. I was in Honduras on a dive trip and was delayed several days returning home. On the island of Utila, one late flight caused several missed flights, which kept me in Paradise, er, I mean stranded for several days. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Please accept my apologies and hope to play in another contest soon. Meanwhile, I will send the pic of my project at next week's photo fun anyway.
