I need a truss bridge and two girder bridges of modern times. I have looked at the ones from atlas. Is there a better looking, more prototypical brand out there. Thanks

If by modern you mean welded then I think you will have to scratch them, but atleast you won't have to worry about the rivets.

Micro Engineering makes through- and deck-type girder bridges in 30' and 50' lengths, and Central Valley has a 72'-er. Campbell has 70'-ers in both deck and through types, and Walthers has through-girder overpasses.
For truss bridges, Walthers offers both a single and doubletrack version, and Central Valley has a 150' single track type.
The deck girder in the foreground in from Micro Engineering, while the truss is a Central Valley kit - it's based on a 1902 prototype.
The deck girder at this end is a modified Atlas through girder: I simply chopped off the rounded ends and replaced the deck with some Micro Engineering bridge track. The two girders are connected with styrene strips and sheet, not visible when viewing the layout.

Lots of unfinished scenery, and some Micro Engineering 30' and 50' girders on the high bridge, while the lower bridges are all from Atlas.

Well guys, I checked them out and bought 1 pratt 150 foot truss bridge

I opened the truss bridge box and guess what , the truss bridge is like 75 plus pieces.:cry: Oh well I havnt put a model together for 40 some years. Going to give it a try.
Any advise is welcome. Thanks all.
Oh ya I forgot to ask . It says that these trusses where built in 1902 and still in use today. If I do (some day) get the automax cars will they clear the truss bridge. From what I have read I think they should. Thanks again

I'd like to know if you're still able to get Central Valley stuff?

I've got a couple of their old box-girder sets, & I've been hoarding them like gold!
I bought mine at Hutch's Trains (now Trains on Brant) in Burlington, Ont., but I seldom go there now that I've retired: I used to drop in on the way to work when I was on afternoon shifts.
For me, Niagara Central Hobbies, in St. Catharines is closer. They have all of the Atlas bridges in stock, as well as the Central Valley and Micro Engineering bridges.Wayne
