That is a GREAT price! The best I've seen is $104 at my LHS. Where did you buy that one?

I looked at the Southern Pacific and it sure looked nice...how does it run?

i got mine at The Train Haus just out side of St Louis you probably dont know where that is but i think you can give Mr. Buesking an email and you might be able to order one from his selection
his email is buesking@ktis.com

also this locomotive runs better than a Kato!

I lived in and around St Louis for 12 years (late 80's to mid 90's). Sure miss that town - what a ball team.

I fly into Spirit of St Louis airport from time to time...I'll have to try to get a crew car and find/drive to the Train Haus.

Thanks!

Its in Warrenton heading towards Columbia on I-70 just take the exit with the Jack in the Box fast food then take a left. well you know what ill give you the adress to the train haus.

You have named only a few of a great number of C-130 variants.

Read about more here: C-130 Hercules - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The "twin 20's" configuration is rarelly used any more. It's not as effective as some other versions. The "cannon" is a 105mm Howitzer.

Usually, the best time of the year to see an H,P, or U model 130 is late summer / early autumn. I'll post here if I find out about an upcoming airshow, but they're usually after the hottest part of summer.

--I personally could do without the incessant drone of the T-56's on a C-130, the horrible AC system, and the sardine-can passenger seating. It has proven itself in combat, but I would still rather ride on a helo.

As for the E7's... great stuff.

AC130 Gunship unofficial motto..."Don't bother running, you'll just die tired."

I've watched the gunship do it's thing over Baghdad...wow it's impressive. My crew joked that whenever we'd get targeted when going into a hot spot like Balad or Fallujah, we'd just start a slow left hand turn (just like the gunships)...the bad guys might not know we didn't have any real way of shooting back.

The Herc might be slow, but it's built tough. My hats off to the people at Lockheed who put 'em together...they do a great job. I fly the H3 model which is an almost all glass cockpit (computers), a great air conditioning system (you gotta wear a gloves to keep your hands warm most of the time) and better engines.

...anyways...back to the trains!

that AC130 motto is so true.i read that the gunships 20mm gattling guns can actually MELT a tank since it gets so hot.not sure if it is true but even still, its a very scary thought!

that is a nicely detailed E7,sure do wish i could afford one!--josh
