How The Heck Do I Start A Blog?

I want to start a blog but I don't see anywhere in the blog area that says, "New Blog" or anything else like that. I tried to search for the answer and came up with ziltch. How did those that already have blogs get theirs opened up??

Hang tight, we think something got dropped when some changes were made a few days ago.:eek:ops: :eek:ops: Peter is looking into it right now. There should be a drop-down menu at the top of the blog index page and there isn't. We'll let you know when it's working again.

Now that somebody has opened this can of worms, in very SIMPLE terms, tell me What is a blog?

Lynn

Blog is an abbreviation for Web Log.
It's more or less an online diary.
In this case, it would be used for documenting the progress of my layout build.

There are blogs all over the internet.
The most common and insipid is probably Live Journal.
Thankfully, the Gauge blogs are much more useful and entertaining.

So would a blog replace our layout progress threads
It could if that's what you want to put in there. You can split your blog into different categories, one of them could be your layout. If you want to solicit responses, you'd probably be better off in the forums. We don't know, since this is new to all of us.

I see Peter is in there lurking about this morning.
Hopefully he'll find a way to fix it soon.

Still no blog love. :(
I'll go poke Peter again. With the new baby, he might have gone to his computer desk just to get a bit of shut-eye.:sleeping::sleeping::sleeping:

Mikey and I have both looked but we don't have access to those controls, and that may be a good thing...

I appreciate it, Don.

And I can certainly sympathize with Peter. I remember when my daughter was born. I would have sold my soul for just 3 hours uninterrupted sleep. She was worth it though. :D

Good news to you all, Peter has restored the drop-down Blogging menu on the action bar up top. You can start a new blog or manage your existing blog now. As you can see, Peter has been a tab busy these past few weeks, and we now have a few more members of the family joining us.

Sorry about the delays, but things are being taken care of a bit at a time.
