Brooklyn Locomotive Works

More Trains Than Brains
About a month and a half ago, I ordered a Model Power Continental Express passenger set from Brooklyn Locomotive Works. (buynscale.com) The set was delivered within just a few days after I had ordered it so I was fairly impressed with their service thus far.

Unfortunately, the loco in the set was wired backwards and eventually died altogether after only doing about 5 or 6 laps around the track. I sent BLW an email telling them the problem and then I waited. After a few days, I got no repsonse form the email so I decided to call. I found two different numbers for their company and both only got me a busy signal. Then I found a second email address and remailed my first note to them and I waited. After another week, I sent a second email to both email addresses and finally got a response to send the loco back.

Now it's a month later. I've emailed them twice to see if they have repaired my locomotive or if they are sending a replacement and I have gotten absolutely no response from them what so ever.

It appears that these guys are great for shipping out products quickly but not so hot when it comes to customer service. Since I can't seem to make any contact with them, I'm about ready to write this one off as a lost cause and put them in the "DO NOT ORDER" file along with Internet Trains.

Has anyone else had any experiences with these guys?

Sorry to hear your story. Yesterday I ordered a kit from them, hope it doesn't wind up as a bad experience.

They're normally pretty good. I wonder what the problem could be.

After the quick shipping service I received from them, I really expected them to be better. I hate writing bad emails but I'm about ready to do just that. I paid $60.00 for the set. (Which was an awesome deal considering list price is $120 or so.) Unfortunately, I now have a trainset with no loco. OK, I have more locos but not the one that came with the set and I'm really getting kind of PO'd about the whole thing.
