Miscellaneous HO scenery

I am looking for a few specific and never been found things for my HO layout.

1. A DeLorean (exactly like the Back to the Future one). I want to put it in front of my steam engine, like was done in BTTF3

2. Any Doctor Who stuff. That is my favourite show, and would be nice to have some neat little DW stuff on my layout.

Any help would be appreciated.

Good luck on the Delorean. I've been looking for one in HO scale for three years. I'm modeling 1885 and want to do the one from BTTF III. I saw one post where a guy had scratch built one. Right now I'm trying to kitbash a Lamborgini. Let me know if you find one.

Well I fell victim to an impulse buy, and bought that right away. Woo hoo. So when my baby hits 88 miles per hour, I am going to see some serious....haha

Doesn't Hornby do a Police box? (Tardis)
Carpo

I just looked on their site, and they only have the new red phone booths. I can't find the old style blue police box on their site. Doesn't mean they don't have any, just my tired eyes didn't find it.

After looking at the slot car and doing some on-line poking around, I don't think it really is HO, although the site lists it as such. From what I've found, slot cars come in three sizes, the smallest of which they call HO. It is really about 1:63 scale, not the 1:87 scale used for model railroading. This is about 38% larger, which is WAY too big, especially if you want to push it with an Old Time steam loco which tend to run on the small side anyway.

Raistlin,
When you get yours, could you confirm the scale and let me know? The overall length of a real Delorean is 166", which is about 1.9" in true HO scale.
Thanks,
Doc

Doc,

On the Tower HObbies page link that Jac provided, it does say it is HO (1:87) scale, and is compatible with most HO and 1:64 slot car sets.

I will definitely let you know when I get it, however.

I've also seen the thread with the scratchbuild DeLorean, but I don't remember what forum it was on. It looked pretty cool - the builder cut the parts out of thin aluminum sheet, and folded it to form the body.

Bad news Doc. The DeLorean is definitely NOT proper HO Scale. It is I way too big to fit on the tracks. I will still put it in the layout somewhere, but won't be able to put it on the tracks and have it go 88 mph. haha.

Oh well I will continue my search.
