Great little train. DCC decoder install is not hard at all. You just need to be careful.

Going for the extra car add-on?

Nah, just keeping the original set. It is such a quiet machine. Creeps on speed step 1 and takes about 10 minutes to go around the lay out at that speed. I have had it to 15 which is about as fast as I want it to go. That is with 4 or 5 other trains on the tracks. They do add class to a layout.:) :)

I want one but there's no way I can justify the $275 to the wife when I'm going to be spending almost $450-$500 to start my new layout soon. Maybe if there are any left after tax time next year.

If you can find a copy of...

... "The Silver Streak" from the 30's- great footage- it's a(the) disaster film with Dagwood Bumstead from film the era, I can't think of his name- but the film/video is available and it features the train as the hero saving a man injured while building the Grand Coolie Damn- as I remember- but then I~~~~~~~~~~
