It is finally DONE

Well it has been a while but I have finally completed redoing my website. Sorry to take so long but I was out of the loop for two months because of a computer problem. It took a while to get the money to fix it.
Anyhow, it is now done. It is easier to read for us 'older' folk. Also ALL of the pictures are now on my website and no longer 'linked' so that they display right away. This will be difficult for dial up people but hopefully it will also make it easier to follow along in the tutorials.
Pop on over and PLEASE enjoy yourselves.

If there are any problems please contact me and tell me so that I can fix it as soon as possible. Thanks ahead of time for your help. :)

Looks good. I fear for those on dial up! I've got high speed internet and it still took 5-10 seconds to load all the pictures for a particular section. Nice though. I like lots of pictures to accompany the tutorial and you have done a fine job of that. It seems that you could do away with "Applying Scenery Foundation" as it is duplicated again in "Making Mountains."
As I was scanning around, under your Bible Stuff, Rapture page, you have misquoted some scripture.
Thessalonians 5:13-18
should actually be
I Thessalonians 4:13-18
The King James version is cool but I prefer the wording of the NIV for verse 16. I did not check any of the others, this one just kind of jumped out at me as being wrong.
Nice site. Keep up the good work! Hope I wasn't too critical for 'ya!

I loaded the page in about 2 sec's flat.
Easy to read! :)
When I load any of the pages you have pictures you the host that is providing the pictures is slow. Thats what is taking so long. I hope that helps!

You've got a great site going there.
I really like your "free stuff" page but you forgot one of the best free downloads out there..... FIREFOX!

Also, another good MP3 converter is Alto MP3 converter.

Keep up the good work! :thumb:

Thanks Combat. Yes the pictures do take a while to load. It is either add the pics or put the links back which no one seemed to like. SO the pics stay and the load times go through the roof.

Matthew thanks. I like your videos as well.

Josh it is actually only 4 feet by 6 feet. That's all the 'boss' would let me have LOL.
Besides, it is in the living room as well.

Not to degrade anything anyone else has said but....

HO Newbie thanks a lot. It means a lot to me that a newbie finds my site easy to navigate and enjoyable. Us old pros of the internet can ussually put up with anything. But your compliment means the most. Thank you :)

Just a thought...... what about breaking them down into other pages so instead of all thoses pics loading there might be one that loads for that "folder" and then when you click that folder for "more" you see the rest. Something like that..... Does that make sense??

Combat um er.... Try a longer explanation. I guess I am thick :?
Do you mean two pages? As in splitting it up?
Or do you mean two pages as in one all text and the other like it is so people have a choice?:confused::confused:

Like this...
You have a main page. This has some pic and some text.
The main page is broken in to areas like you have now.
You pick the area you want to go.
Once in that page you have text and some pics.
You then further break down that page and pics into sub categories under that category.

So as an example...
Trains..
under trains you see road names
under that you show pics related to that road name
Also under trains you break it up to other areas as you see fit.
This will limit how pics are on each page and will speed to load times of the page.

I hope that makes more sense. If not I will be happy to explain it better if you think it might help. :)

Combat, if I am understanding you correctly then that is exactly what I am trying to avoid. Where people have to drill down several pages just to get some info. It is my goal to have people only click about 3 times to get to the info.
From the main page they already go to each 'section', computer stuff', 'bible stuff' and 'model railroading stuff'.
That's one click.
Then each 'section' has its own subsection. Another click.
Then [hopefully] one last click to the actual info.

I like your idea but to be honest {IF I understand you, and I may not] I do't like that when I go someplace and 5 or 6 clicks later I STILL don't have what I went for. I find it very annoying.

Anyhow, if I misunderstood you I appologize.

Thanks for your input time and effort though. Whether I use anyones ideas I truly still appreciate them.

A big thanks to everyone who contributed and took the time to go look and comment.

Further comments are of course still welcome :D

Yes and no. I understand completely why you dont want to drill it down any further, but when it comes to pics and load times people WILL bale just as fast on a website that is to slow. When I said have a few pictures there and then have them go to another page to see the rest that will let them see what they want quickly and then if they choose to see more then they can load the next page for that detail looks. I hope that helps and makes a little more sense! :)
