Hey Guys,
I discovered The Gauge around a year and a half ago, and I have really come to enjoy the interractions with many of you who have interests similar to mine. The Gauge adds tremendously to my interest and motivation in this hobby, as I can use the forum as a sounding board, for answers to my questions, and for just showing off my ideas.
I have logged on to the new Gauge several times today, and I see that it is going to take me awhile to get used to it. As a firm believer in the "KISS" principle, I'm just a bit overwhelmed by the information overload at this point. Hopefully I will eventually figure out how to navigate around as well as I could before on the old Gauge.
To be honest, I am not happy with the new site... I suppose I am just resistant to change, and also lazy in that I don't want to learn how to get around in here all over again. But, I keep telling myself, The Gauge IS NOT what you see on the computer screen. The Gauge is THE PEOPLE who make it such a great place. And that is what will make me stay here and get used to the new scheme, and after awhile I'll be jumping back and forth to the things that interest me just like I did on the old Gauge.
Now, for the thing that annoys me the most: Having the advertisements on the left side of the screen is extremely distracting to me. Because we read left to right, I am sure some pyschologist figured out that the ads should be over there. Everytime we adjust our eyes back to the left, BAM! the ads are in our face again. It may not bother anyone else, but for me, it is really really distracting. HEY! I think I will get some tape and paper and just cover up about 2" on the left of the monitor! Seriously, it is driving me nuts. Anyone else notice this?
Anyway, it will take me awhile to get used to the new, so I amy not be posting a whole lot for the next several days.
Thanks for listening!
Gary
