I have been posting on his website for a couple years now. Not sure what model I first posted on, but it was before he had storage problems with his page. I use a Vista PC, and Chrome to post. Just like I do here. Maybe my computer is so old the page can't figure out to do, so it lets me through.:)colonial-salute.gif

Not true! I’m using the Mac version of Opera.
OK, good. I don't have a Mac so I don't know what's possible on that or not. I was relying on an info on heise.de saying that the Opera makers would stop adding VPN to their browser with the end of April 2018:
https://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/Opera-VPN-wird-eingestellt-Olaf-geht-in-Rente-4026866.html
http://translate.google.com/transla...llt-Olaf-geht-in-Rente-4026866.html&sandbox=1
Again, this thread is not the right place to discuss this matter.

I am happy you guys are getting through. I hope this system works out for UHU, though in reality, his "Rey's Speeder" model was on a Russian website the day he finalized it. So it is someone who is posting on his website that is uploading these models. I, and others I have spoken too didn't even know he had finished it! Once you give a model out, you have thrown it to the wind, even the retail ones get pirated.

GREAT! Use whatever works for you. :)

One more reminder: I have no idea how long it is possible to receive the models. So if you want to have them, don't be late to the party and make a post on UHU's blog (the latest entry). GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU! :)

For those who value your privacy,

UHU's new distribution method does not use BCC. That means everyone who gets the links also gets the email addresses of the other recipients. That means others will get your email address. I think this is an oversight on his part, but as he he not answered any queries recently, I can only post it here, hoping he will read it and understand this violation of privacy.

That's one thing, but I am unable to leave a comment using the form.

I get:

"Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /t/comments on this server."

It happens regardless of email account used, or whatever.

If anyone has a suggestion as to why this may be happening, I'd love to hear it.

Hello Joy,

UHU does not seem to responding to anyone's messages, except to those who manage to leave a message to get a model. I have now answer. why. He has not responded to any official queries made by the forum, and his behavior is becoming to those who have supported him for so many years. I thought maybe he got rid of his library (finally) and decided to give out his model in a 6week week period or something, but now has chosen a method that was not thought out well.

I have no answers, but maybe he will read these posts and offer some kind of answer. On this forum, though, time is running out for him.

The reality is, they are his work and he can distribute them how he chooses.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Joy, I combined your posts. One post with three comments I made and no other comment seemed like a mistake to me. In any even, combining it with this post made more sense. Thanks Zathros

This is the issue I addressed in this post (last paragraph):

Try again with Opera and VPN switched on.

I agree, but if everyone gets your email address when he distributes his models, the he has chosen to do this, should be noted. It is an invasion of privacy

I think the question is not his distribution method, it is access to the forum, which I have no problem doing with Firefox. I am not sure why others are having problems, it could be the VPN set up he has, or the person's location.

That's correct. The bad thing is, like you said, UHU does not respond to ANYTHING. Neither to a message on his blog, nor to conversations, nor in the threads. This lack of participation is disturbing. We have so many questions and are still left in the dark. :(

I'm certain it has smething to do with the location of the poster. As I previously mentioned , I don't understand the technical stuff, however, as soon as it is possible to bypass the issue I wouldn't worry about that. :)

UHU has updated his blog. He is working on a new model and has apologized for not using BCC. He wrote he would pay attention to this next time to avoid this mistake. That means the privacy issue is (hopefully) solved (we'll know for sure when the next model is released).

UHU is not going to give its designs to everybody; even if we manage to leave a message. I leave a post and it does not appear, so he must have deleted it.So far, so good! I´ll enjoy the photos :(;);)

Uhu is generating much ill will towards himself. I hope sure he soon realize this. It's sad, this is going to backfire on him big time. Then he will probably just stop making models, complaining about "piracy", (no mention about pirating the subject matter of his models though, to which he has no rights, i.e. "Star Wars", "Battlestar Galactica"). In any event, if he doesn't, his models will still get out. Not responding to people who go through the trouble of posting on your site, when this is the request he has put out, is odd behavior, definitely not the right way to behave, no matter what culture you come from, I have never heard of any culture that advocates this kind of disrespect.
