Got to keep things ALIVE.. and remind folks ..things are still being done! Though at a half-dead snails pace! Took awhile to re-find the thread it has been that long.. but I have still worked on this from time to time..and still torn/rebuild structures in the back of my head while building the 800 other things along with the current builds and re-models.. "Please make a reproduction raised panel door for this washstand I bought, and NO I don't have the original, but you can figure it out Right?" request!

anyway.. trashed just about everything which is something I think I said " I did not want to do" but did anyway!
Rebuilding EVERY PART ! and getting rid of the rats nest from the original mesh we had. Still using as a reference, but all new PARTS!

for example...

AllNewBuild2-6-18.jpg

Old part in the back, New in the front Old has triangles connected to everything, all around EVERY CUTOUT there is!! New , face with holes in it...! some of the connections are missing as there is no need to have them when you are gluing a part to something... I am cutting and trimming EVERYTHING ..no mystical boxes that merge into themselves!! Stay Tuned..but don't hold your breath! Unless someone steps up to help out!

I have the same problem with the Klingon d7 bell, where the cannon is located. Not on the olive shaped rounded part, but on the upswept to a point aft section. im thinking at this point to just make a kit out of thick coarse paper mache, and selling it. With leds and all. [ just to ease my mind]
YGEDC2887.JPG ou do good work, and it's very interesting to see your progress on this.

I wish I had only a half dozen projects. I have so many that just need to be laid out and have instructions built. I find instructions the hardest because I know how I would and do things, but I could only due picture illustrations, and trying to tell someone how to fold every single part, when it seems so tedious, makes me just think, "Ah screw it, no one would build it anyways".

This'll be interesting to see how this turns out.:) My version of these "pods" had the top and bottom sections split out and mounted onto the main body. Still looks good though. Looking forward to actual build pics.

Thanks for the reminder about this project. The Vorchan was put on the back burner while doing the Robinson project. Will be working on the Serenity next. Have new pieces for the Vorchan and a possible rework of the head.

Thanks for sharing the latest update on the Vorchan project.:)

I have to agree. When the original doctor was killed, I was shocked, but when they brought our lil darling engineer on board, and man, she is one good actress, she changed roles so fast, I forgot she was from Serenity. I hope she doesn't get lost and keeps finding roles, she is far from her prime. ;)

Hmm,, I cut the body to reduce the size so all the bits of it would fit on A4 sheets ...BTW each pod is an A4 sheet! at min size!

That's going to be a REALLY big model!:surprise: How many sheets are you going for on this project? A small forest perhaps?;)

I have NO IDEA!! It keeps getting BIGGER!! The cannons are now bath-room tissue tubes... ( just kidding) but it will be big... each 1/4 wing section will more than likely end up split into 2 parts each on an A4 sheet.. so that might give you an idea! I broke the curve of the horizontal wing down to 10 parts, most of the center body section I was able to cut away and add sectional walls to the remaining to add strength. Broke it at logical points (section breaks/ intersections of slanted and straight parts) into separate "boxes".. then have to cover with card for the exposed joints with existing ( where possible) greebles! Most sections are buried with-in the basic structure so is not a problem. Making the skeleton and getting rid of all the bad modeling is time consuming, considering I have tons of other stuff going on...

BTW I have a ton of original textures for Serenity from the original movie build by Sean Kennedy! You Need?

Hey that would be great! Although the version I'm building right now is just the "spanish version". I can't remember the author's name right now. Just trying to get a feeling for the model before I really start to greeble etc. Lots of parts to this one that's for sure.

Still neck deep in building the "Serenity" from Firefly. Will hopefully get back top this model sometime soon. I think I've got a possible design for the command section (the head) ironed out. It involves 4 cuts at about each corner of the back, bending, and joining them together to give a bulged appearance at the back instead of having it flat.

Stay tuned.
