As far as German goes, for me, that was like reaching the "end of the Internet"! :)

OK, I ad some more pix:
The penguin is my own construction, I did this at the age of 18. Last year I startet to rework it with Rhino but it's not finished yet...
And there is a second Neuschwanstein castle, if you push the wooden staff, it pops up...

I am a Rhino user too. I use 5.0, but started with 2.0. You did a great job! I would be interested in seeing a Rhino Viewport picture "Screen Grab", to see how you approached this. Very nice, indeed!! :)

Hello Zathros,
all I can offer at the moment are some renderings. I only have a trial version of Rhino and can't save ore print ... until I've saved the money for the full version ( I don't use pirate things...:))
The first penguin I did by hand and by some mathematics I learned at school. I prepared it to "publish" it as a kit, but I think it should be done a rework first to get it a little more "professional" and contemporary.

My cousin once had a plushie penguin (made by German plushie legend Steiff) we played a lot with as we were children. I also wanted to get this penguin but it was not available anymore. So I built my own out of paper some years later;)

I traced all the handmade drawings in "intaglio", a simple vector-drawing software for Mac, then imported these into Rhino...
I did it this way because I first had only intaglio to work with, but it's only for 2-dimensional drawing.

Thanks Revell-Fan,
one day it will be ready for sharing, but there's some work to do first. I never did a test-build with the hand-drawings, so I don't know yet how all the parts fit together...

So you took the surfaces from the solids to make the shape. Very good. You might want to try and use curves to construct the model, the use the Surface commands, such as "Patch", or from "Curve Network", under "Surface", to make the surfaces. The model will then completely unfold by itself when you use Unfold Developable Surfaces. :)

Thanks for the hint, Zathros. I'll try this...

Thank you. I just need some time now, big change in my life: after a one-year-odyssey via Austria und Hamburg I moved back to Munich and will be trained for a train-drivers-licence the next months. Tailoring doesn't earn the money I need. So when all that learning is done, I'll get back to Rhino:) and finally I hope to post some building thread at zealot;)
