thank you! i have a lot of models to do, hopefully this flue is over now and i can get back at things. if you roll the surfaces on this one, and are real precise on your cuts, it won't look lopsided. i am going to do another one and greeble each armor place and wires and insets. i can't wait!!!

lol, a side note i had purple leds in the nacelles at one point, but they burnt out from using too much voltage, so i changed it to higher rated voltaged leds that were green.

another thing, the green ''eyes'' are going and i will put a flat piece of green plastic under the sawtooth looking things on the sides of the bridge deck, but with solid ''teeth'' so its back lit green. and move the disruptor cannons from under the hull, to the grill middles on the leading edge of each wing. i think i will greeble in the nacelle plates and back light them green too. kind of like a green lit schematic with just outlines. i scotch taped the main reactor grill in the back so the bars wouldn't bend or sway. but they still did. it helped tho. and i used a piece of a window screen in the dumpster for the impulse grills. and just glued them in. those hairs are nearly invisible hot glue strands. i picked them off later when i could see them. the camera is no friend to minor little flaws.

This was an awesome build thread!

It makes me want to build one in paper.

You've really taken the craft up a notch!

Can't wait to see the next build!

Spaceagent,

Nice build thread. Love the lighting! I know what you mean with the optics pointing out things that you can't see normally. Strange how it works like that eh?

I hope you get well soon from the desert flu.

Thanks for sharing & keep greebling on!

Spaceagent,

What do you want to have done? Are some of the pieces not fitting together or do you want to scale them up? I have a pretty primitive drawing program i.e. MSPaint outside of that I can scan pics and mess with the contrast but that's just about all I've got for right now.

Glad you were able to do a workaround. Faulty computers are always a bane of one's existence.:Computer::headbange: :frak::exterminate::robot3::realmad::robot1:

Take care.

Man, this is really coming out great. I have never seen one of these built so detailed.

well, thanks, [ i always think i dont do a good enough job on these, but i am satisfied when they are finished] it was a test fit, but i went further on it than i usually have been. i still want to redo this, sky blue lites in the nacelles, eliminate the green ''eyes'' and back light the grills on each side of the bridge wedge in sky blue. and because of that darn skyseeker and his BSG Defender, i am going to greeble EVERYTHING, and i do mean everything on it.

I think sizing this up would be a great idea. You showed its potential.

Has anyone done the even more grebbled STVI version? I remember seeing the model after it had been converted that way and it was astoundingly detailed, as amazing as TMP version was.

i did a plastic one once, gold trim , everything even the thor helmet wings on the bridge. that was back in 1991 tho. maybe i could use gold thread glues in. im not sure, im kind of infatuated with the first movie klingon right now, i might do a st 6 one. i know i have thought about it a few times.

I did one of those AMT kits too, but the reddish cues of that version were impressive. Frankly, I haven't seen a bad K'tinga!

The ST VI version was the first with lit nacelles, the STTMP the first with lit impulse.

yeah the do a white fiber optic on nacelles and aft of the bridge unit, and i think up on the graph unit. i would like to have it have a little more life, and will put blue where the green is on this on the nacelles.

Spaceagent,
Glad I could be an inspiration to you.;) :animated: I didn't think that it was possible for you to up your game there with the LEDS alone - that's pretty cool - but to greeble on top of that well .. that's guaranteed to win a model competition or two (or just bragging rights or just a really cool model to look at when you have some down time).:)

Still my inspiration was Zathros and Revell Fan.

Will try to get some more pics probably this evening.
