Making this thread a sticky for you DentedRick. I think this whole series of models has commercial potential, and I can easily imagine a cartoon made based on this. I wonder if he is open to people making their own "AstroRacers" It would be neat to have an "Unofficial" section. :)

that's one of those (Register to use) sites. I dont have good luck with those

Dented Rick,

Click on the pdf file. Next a pop up window will come up. In the center is a capcha form (looks like a paint splattered Rorschach test). Enter the code in the block then press stahnout.

I didn't have to register at all.

I hope this help you out.

I could definitely go with that. Maybe I could make the Hans Berg #26 after the #51 young & beautiful is made for a scale comparison reference. Does anyone out there have a link to the ABC mags that these come from for an additional resource?

I guess it would be up to Jan Rukr, to see if he would be into an unofficial "Loner" type of racer entry. Of course, there's no one stopping anyone from making their own interpretation but this is one of those areas of where you have someone who has given so much to the modeling community, I wouldn't want to sidle in on his creation, especially with something that I really do see fantastic potential with commercially as models, as as an anime style series. I don't understand how such talent can be overlooked?

Jan is one of those talented people that certainly has earned his place in the modeling world that's for sure - especially with the design of the Nostromo! I concur with Dan that it's about the marketing, but also he's from the Czech republic (all his stuff is in Czech - I guess the Czech is in the mail!). So he's probably known over there it's just over here across the pond that he's only known to a select group of people.

OK I'll be careful not to tread on his designs too much. I just think that some of the ones that he's made that aren't available would be great to build. Although if they are built I'll be happy to pay for the templates / plans / designs. He's certainly earned it that's for sure.

Also, HAPPY B-DAY Zathros / John! :toast: Thanks again for all you do on the forum!:)

I was thinking the same thing, really shows the sizes you can work with paper, or that Dented Rick can anyways. I'd lose those models under my fingernails! :)

I started out shrinking to save space, as am limited in shelf space here in my Crafting cave......but honestly, I enjoy micros now more than the bigger models

That's because you can play with them, and if someone comes by, you can cover them up with a stamp,, and no one knows you were playing rockets and tanks and things!! :)

Oh, air battles in the living room can be horrific. Sometimes the combatants actually destroy the craft while not being engaged. Defense is paramount!! :)

Agree.....!
Especially when you provide inferior constructed craft to the opposition, before the lounge war begins...........!
That helps for pre-meditated defensive purposes.... ;)
Something along the lines of: "If ya get me one beer from the fridge, you can have this whole crate.....!", while offering him a shoddily built model of the Millennium Falcon......... :D :D :D
