Use the lead based solder, such as 60/40 (takes a second to harden) or 63/37 (which hardens almost instantly when heat is removed). Use as small a tip point as you can. "Tinning" is strongly recommended. Check the web for more help/tips but no matter what - practice on junk track pieces first. Once the wire is soldered to the rail, if it is on the inside, use your NMRA Gauge to make sure it will not obstruct wheels before sanding the solder.
