Default Smolka Sawmill

This sawmill is based on the one in the March 1990 Model Railroader. It is named after Andy Smolka NARA member#9.
This will be one of at least three sawmills on my MAT. I have one already called the Schmidt Sawmill and will make at least one more as logging on the MAT continues to grow.
It is N gauge.
This picture shows it with just the walls in place.

Thanks guys. Dick I drew the doors using MS paint. The windows are drywall joint mesh.
This next picture is the start of the slash burner.

I glued on peices of paper and made the spark arresting grid out of waste canvas. Waste canvas is sold at craft stores

Robin. This is the lumber I used to build my benchwork. It is top grade so it must have come from one of your mills.

Don't know how the lumber got to San Diego area Dick but am sure you put it to good use. ( I know you did)

Thumbs up

Robin, thank you for another great model in the pipeline!

Shamefacedly I must confess that you finished a mine, the coaling tower and now this sawmill, while I achieved next to nothing on my layout.

My workshop is complete, so far. Now to have a nice little machine which generates model building time...

I'm looking forward to watch your progress!

Ron
