Default Anthony344 Picture Test Build Normandy SR2

I had a crack at test build my own normandy sr2 it turn out ok for the first prototype but it may not be good to post as a kit.

I have not complete the other side engine just run out of glue but i'll get it done. The fuselage i split each sections & made inform ribs for structure.
I have made the back fin stick outwards, it make it look so much cooler from behind.

I'll try to keep up to date as much as i can, i'm studying & working.

Cheers.
Mark

Hey Zathros

The total length of the Normandy SR2 is roughly about 36" & width is roughly about 14".
I am planing a much more better & cleaner design of the normandy sr2 but you would be better off with steve design than mine.

I am redesigning the mid sections alot different than the one that you see in the pic , i did not like the open joint as much so i'm changing it.

Cheers
Mark

Nice job Anthony. Of course I feel slow and inadequate now since I'm still working on mine. Your version is much bigger than the version I'm doing at 24". I also didn't think the open joints in the middle were worth keeping so I smoothed those over in my design as well. Great minds think alike...

Look forward to seeing your next build.

Steve

Default New Designed Normandy SR2

I have made progress on the new Normandy SR2 that i'm building, in the first Below pic that you see is my first prototype Normandy front nose assembly, notice i have split up two of the section & now i have change it to one peace nose with internal ribs. The second below pic is the new front nose assembly & now less joint line witch i'm happy the way it looks.

I squeeze a bit of build time & done some progress on the nose, note: i'm only using straight A4 paper for the skin. I want to see how effective when the skin is apply to the inform ribs & see if there is crease lines on the skin & i gotta say it has not effect much on the A4 but i going to do another test build above 140 to 190gsm Card stock paper. I can see using thicker paper less the crease lines there is.

Well that's it for now until i get some more glue down at bunnings warehouse.

Bye for now.

I just downloaded your model. It is awesome! My son is so crazy over it, I think this will "our" first build. Thanks so much! My son wants the game, but at 11 years old, I have never played the game. Is it too much for an 11 year old?
