Proteus from Fantastic Voyage
I want to build a model of the Proteus sub from Fantastic Voyage as she's such a beautiful design.
Please I need help and advice. I've found a beautiful rendering in Sketchup but I haven't a clue how to take It apart to send the components to Pepakura. I'm a complete beginner.
Life's a learning curve, that's why I feel like I'm going round the bend!

I've got the same model and imported it into AutoCad. The faces are not really suited to unfolding as many of them do not end at the exterior intersection point but continue into the interior of the model. Also, some of the intersections are "fudged" to get them to appear to match up.
I've had to trace all of the intersections in order to get a true wireframe structure that can develop into a buildable pattern.
I'll be happy to share what I have if you want. Good luck though, I've been dying to see a good model of the Proteus (with interior!).
PM me if you need my e-mail address
