Default 'FixedStar86' in China Selling FREE Canon Models

Hi all,

I was searching the net for some unusual Polish Maly airplane models, when I stumbled on this Chinese seller: http://cgi.ebay.com/DIY-3D-paper-mod...742.m153.l1262

I thought I had seen this Wright Flyer model before - and sure enough, most of the models are FREE download models from Canon Papercraft in Japan, which they are auctioning at prices ranging from 10 to 28 bucks each (in some cases three different price levels on the same model)!!!

Compare with CanonŽs site: http://cp.c-ij.com/english/3D-paperc...t-flyer_e.html

I have sent them an e-mail, pointing to their disrespectful and irregular behavior. WeŽll see what happens . . .

Bengt

Hey... Take it easy guys, I walked into someone selling home-printed Halinski kits last week (yes and that's the only piece of cardmodel I've seen in this trip back in Beijing)... So never mind piracy in China, it's not going to change in the next decade.

Thats great support for piracy Lex.

Lets be easy on Chinese piracy because they are not 'planning' on making changes.

Lex is correct. Instead of gnashing my teeth and pontificating about the injustice, I contacted Canon directly. Their rep was not upset in the least. Oh well....

Eventually, the buyers will make it to a forum like ours and discover they were the victims of a swindle.

If one feels so inclined, they can take matters in their own hand by buying the item and refusing to pay. Once there is a nonpayment dispute, you can present the evidence that you cannot purchase pirated materials. I tried it once; Ebay gave me a strike.

Any questions? Good; let it go and build a model.

I just clicked on the e-bay link, it's now a leather case for a cell phone...

If you do the math, you can calculate that 85 million years ago the moon was orbiting the earth at a distance of about 35 feet from the earth's surface. This would explain the death of the dinosaurs. The tallest ones, anyway.
