Default Weekly photo fun 9-21-07

This gives you a peek at my homemade backdrop. It adds a bit of distance to the scene.

Default SP Heavy Steamer

I changed this pic to B&W since most of the old pics of steam engines are plain B&W. It is HO and I made the hills from colored sheet rock (wallboard) plaster on foam insulation board.

Here's a scrap yard special. A Bachmann GE U-boat body on an Athearn GP50 chassis.

Default Conrail/NS SD80/MAC waiting for paint

Caught this SD unit waiting it's turn at the Davidson Repair for a re-lettering to Norfolk Southern. It's been off the road for most of its recent life - that's why it still has a clean paint job - but will see more service through the Carolina mountains when officially branded with the NS logo. Looks like the backhoe operator is waiting for his turn digging while a front loader just out of frame takes hunks out of a hill that will soon see a new building trackside to this NS mainline.

Jeffrey, your backdrop works great, nice pics.
cn nutbar, your collection of steamers is really extraordinary. I am glad that I am mostly interested in old diesels, otherwise I’d be green with envy...
bryantm, beautiful scene and engine, hope to see more of your layout.
Charlie, it is alway a delight to see your pics.
Herc, what a beauty. The quality of your photos of your n-scale engines is amazing.

Here is retro pic from me, back to the 50s.

jeffrey-wimberl, nice backdrop!
bryantm - Welcome! and nice pic!
cn nutbar - Great Pic!
slekjr - Nice!
Herc - Your layout photographs really well!
cnw1961 - Call the dog catcher! Great Picture!

We had another train meeting and he gave me permission to post these pictures. As he doesn't even have a computer, have to do it for him.

He solved the space problem in a rather novel way, his layout has five levels (one is hidden) and they all interconnect, he has LOTS of reversing tracks and you have to stay on your toes to run the trains. However, he has wired it that the trains stop before the switch if it is wrong. He even has a helix around his water heater!

I think I've gone a little over-board in my retaining wall plan. I started off to make just ten castings. Well, I decided what's the harm with doing just one more? Now I have nineteen castings with number twenty in the mold!

Good start this week guys. Lets keep them rolling!

Well, Yesterday, Better-Half and I went to the Big E(Kinda a Northeast country fair...Same place I go for the Big E train show every year). Any way, across from the main gate is CSX West Springfield yard....Guess what I saw there. CNE's New Haven retro paint SD70! Far from home and on foriegn rails...No wonder I hadn't seen her in awhile.

Creative shot Ed! Nice pics from everyone as well! I like the black and white theme so here's mine. Black and white look good in black and white, after all!
