An idea for lighted displays, would be to print the displays on clear acetate and put the leds behind them.

That's what I would do. I'll be finishing this model of the bridge but I now can't decide what to do next. I like the 1701-E bridge and have enough reference for that. I then went on to consider doing a run of Enterprises bridges except the TOS as it's out there already?

After those maybe go back and tackly add-ons?

Default Awesome Bridge Model!

I was hoping someone would model the D Bridge! This will make a great series of display models. I had a lot of fun designing the TOS bridge, even used a screen shot from the show for the main viewer screen. It really adds to the model's character.

The individual stations were a bit tedious as I had to draw eash individual button and light, but it was very satisfying as each station was completed.

Having good material for the LCARS panels will really set his model apart and make a very nice and colorful display. The bright colors was one of the things of the TOS bridge that appealed to me to design the model.

I look forward to seeing and building this model!

Best Regards,

Thanks Ron. It means alot coming from you as you're TOS bridge got me thinking of doing this one. I built your bridge model for my dad as a thank you gift. He brought me up on Trek so I've been hooked all my life.

I started this orogonally a year ago, then Ilost all the work dur to PC failure and had to start over.

I've gathered alot of reference and am gathering more. Okudagrams.com is a great site for Trek display monitors. I've also added something to the viewer. Not a screen capture but a nice purple nebula as if the Enterprise is "boldly" going.

Good news! It's unfolded. All the parts are laid out and ready for a test build. I'll be sorting that out later and I'll let you know how it goes together.

I have a request. Idon't have the full program of Pepakura Designer2 only the trial. I have the older version but want to keep the model fairly high res for clarity of lines and textures.

How can I do this?

this might help, Its in german, but its still easily navigable.
Ultra High-Res scans of ALL the screens, lcars, padds, and any other grafix. also has animations and bridge layouts of all the ships as well.

Well, I was up quite late lastnight adding the displays to the model. Adding texture to the padded walls around the doorways and that.

This is how it's coming along.

Default Glad to help!

As previously mentioned in this thread, these displays would look great backlit and printed on mylar!

In fact, I also think most of those scans were the actual high-res images used by the design department to actually print the mylars for the show. However I dont read german, and this info was just told to me-so I could be wrong.

It would look great backlit I agree. Though even as a standard build these LCARs screens should make the model as there are. They were high res and even after being edited to fit the model, alot of the screens are still readable to some extent.

The model is done and ready, I'm just waiting on the testbuild results to ensure it goes together correctly. I'm also just finishing the instruction sheets. So it won't be too long now.

Well, it's done!!. I'll wait for at least one testbuild to be completed before making it available providing all fits together OK.

The Enterprise-E is coming next!
